I suppose it's time I talk a bit more about Raijin as I've mentioned her in my past few notes as a key example of a "successor".
The idea of Succession or Inheritance as I've mentioned, is the idea that if a god likes their followers too much to leave them behind when their pantheon stops being worshiped and goes back to my world, where gods can exist without followers, they can choose to remain at the cost of being demoted to an aging and eventually dying demigod. When this happens, someone who behaves similarly and "fits" enough gets brought to Sedd and offered to ascend to the empty seat. In most cases, if the successor consents to taking on the role, they will also take on their name as well as their position, like the name of the god is also the name of the god's seat of office.
So it was for Raijin, who, despite being a female Zorgoia when her predecessor was unambiguously a male Oni (Succession ignores things like species and gender in these matters), was chosen to replace the former god of Lightning when the demon-faced god chose to remain on Earth and die a mortal death with those loyal to him. Raijin's behavior is fully befitting the seat as a boisterous drunkard who prefers to live and party, causing damage wherever she sets up... although.
After spending time learning about her more, I learned that she also seeks to change what the seat entails, something well within her purview to do. Raijin's temple is now staffed entirely by maidens who ran away from abusive husbands and families or arranged marriages they sought to escape from, in return for menial tasks and helping Raijin get set up for her shows (I'll talk about that shortly) she provides them with a god's protection and has been known to be violently protective of them - especially if the people they ran away from show up looking for "her girls". She's told me more than once she prefers live prey as most Zorgoia do, but she's had the abusive men "well done" for the ignorance of mouthing off to a lightning goddess and threatening her beloved followers. In return they're utterly loyal sometimes to the point of smitten with her, and will gladly tend to her every whim, grooming need, and even willingly offer themselves as food.
Besides her protective streak, Raijin is also something of an earth-shaker, she didn't miss the chance to notice the relative lack of loud music on Vakkert Sedd, which besides pockets of advanced technology is somewhat Luddite and technophobic, so on her arrival from her own mid-tech homeworld wasted no time in forming up a band of Yokai who specializes in loud, rock-like musical styles that has both enthralled and horrified both mortal and god alike in the relatively tranquil far east of my homeworld, with fans both mortal and demonic coming to enjoy their concerts in peace (or the closest thing one can get at a rock concert). Her band is named "The Four Fiends" and besides her consists of a Kitsune, a Raven Tengu, and a Tanuki. I remember that Kitsune too, from a long time ago. Glad to see he's found a place to fit in.
My first experience with one of her shows resulted in a phenomenal if not ear-aching show where she and her band rocked the world around them as they played, her drumming taking up a lot of forefront as one would expect and kicking up a monstrous lightning storm as she did. Around the halftime of the show, she flirtily asked if anyone'd want to join her for halftime and it resulted in a wave of people crashing against the barricades to the point that the oni who serve as her bouncers were almost overwhelmed. When one fan slipped through they held the line, and a few minutes later Raijin rejoined the stage with said fan nowhere in sight... and an unmistakable squirming in her upper stomach. She'd joke to me later this was something she often did as a mid-show refuel to keep a body as big and heavy as hers moving during something so high actions. Though the climax was also unforgettable as she eventually lept into the clouds, which took form as a giant golem that looked like her, save the wroth demonic face her predecessor had, before striking a drum the size of a small building and causing a lightning strike that looked more like a satellite cannon in the distance, wiping out part of the forest nearby that - having asked later, was dying and in need of being cleared out - maintaining a natural balance by burning away that dead foliage so it could regrow new life.
Afterwards I chanced to pull the "also a divinity" card and got to meet her personally. Her singing voice was aggressive and she was almost chanty, so it wasn't immediately obvious how -thick- her accent is. Ahem, if I had to mimic it in text, it'd sound "Kin'a like this, she's got a real dern thick Sourthern accent y'all." Which... I have zero idea how and where she picked up an accent like that living on Veldram her whole life, but it's genuine as far as I can tell.
Aaaand of course I would be remiss to not mention I got the private tour inside of her as well. Near as I can tell her stomachs are mirrored in function to handle both parts of digestion separately. Her upper stomach had some of the most intense muscular action I've ever fallen victim to, even the inside of a serpent didn't crunch me that hard, it was like being in an industrial press, but even though I was being worked nearly to a pulp I wasn't breaking down at all, so her acid in that stomach is completely lacking in potency. Her lower stomach on the other hand was pleasant and spacious, the muscular action never became gripping enough for me to feel even slightly uncomfortable, but within half an hour I was melted down to nothing, so clearly her acid in that stomach is as powerful as I'm used to for Zorgoia.
After a while and some -ahem- incidents, I got to know her a bit more. Underneath her drunken bully of a persona is a mother (or a grandmother? I was just as surprised to learn that) who aches for home but felt like godhood lightyears away was better than staying on Veldram for reasons she told me in confidence, so I'm not going to say it aloud. She drinks to forget to a degree, but after finding out that I have portals that can send her back home to visit her family, has calmed down a lot on being as aggressively drunk.
She can be a harsh personality to go and interact with sometimes, but I can sense a loyal friend deep in there (and I don't meant the ones she's eaten a few times already). Just be careful about inviting her to parties, lest she drink all the drink, eat all the food, and walk out with all your guests stewing inside of her.

Phew, and here it is! Long awaited Raijin's full-detail reference sheet, showing what this big gal is all about inside and out, as well as her patterns and her alternate "thundercloud" mode!
This gigantic ref sheet was a beast and I couldn't be happier with the final results of it! Essy did such a great job with all of this.

Did she reform the fan? Does she reform people who are non friends or is it ‘meh just send em to the afterlife.’ Type of thing?
Generally speaking, you have to offend her personally in a pretty severe way to not get reformed. She's a brute but she's not evil or cruel.
Ah I see. Thank you for the response. Shes like chaotic good or chaotic neutral.
