I've been trying to work on this little thing for a few months now, not the doodles but you know the explanation. Drekir really aren't well built for bows and wouldn't really have bows that are designed or shot like in the way we here in the US (especially under a more eurocentric and westernized viewpoint of bows) and the bows they do have tend to be from a somewhat different paradigm.
A lot of this is based on the hyper shortbows found in the Pacific Northwestern indigenous peoples such as the Nootka, Tlingit, among others. I mean I generally do a lot of reading on indigenous peoples, archeology and anthropology but it was only recently I've started heavily studying bow designs.
Of course drekir can't really use the classic techniques of bows, their arms are too far apart and to far back behind their chest, moreover drekir arms are not really the strongest and generally for drekir there are options that work better with their anatomy (Atlatls, javelins, throwing sticks) Though bows in some cases are needed, in situations where a drek doesn't want to or can't maneuver in the manner needed for a lot of those throwing weapons a bow is quite useful.
Drekir bows are basically always shortbows, longbows naturally require a longer draw length and the short drawlength of a shortbow is a must. Generally drekir shortbows are stout, thick bows with a draw length of 18-22" They are made by a lot of the common woods that one would make a bow out of such as juniper, osage, oak, willow, etc. as well as out of scavenged materials like PVC and fiberglass that is scavenged up in the long husked ruins. They tend to have a poundage somewhere between 30lbs-50lbs with 50lb bows being the upper limit for a dreks arm and shoulder strength. Generally the bows would probably work for hunting small and medium game and fishing, they might be used for large game hunting in a region though that requires a drek to either get much closer to the target and/or use some sort of poison. Of course like most hunting weapons its common to see drekir take bows to fights with other dens, tribal groups, sivilão or human groups.
The shooting technique would vary regionally though so far I've only been able to think of one so i will talk on that one. The bow is held horizontally and the arrow and string are pulled under the chest or, if aiming down towards the center of the belly, but either way under the drek. While the arrow is being pulled back the bow hand should be pushing the bow forward, once the bow hits the "crest" of its draw the arrow is released. It is entirely instinct aiming and accuracy is learned on muscle memory, repetition and an intuitive understanding on where the arrow should fly. Gripping styles could be any sort of grip, pinch grips, European grips, Mediterranean or Mongolian grips, Maasai grips, etc. etc.
Arrowheads vary but are generally various types of bone, chitin, knapped stones or, if lacking, ground stones like slate, and copper. There are sometimes in some societies bronze arrows though those are considerably rare as, wasting such a valuable metal by getting it lost in the woods is... not great. But yeah expect a lot of regional variation because of course.
ALSO messing with two toed ungulate hooves for temperate drekir, yeah there you go.

Shooting a bow for a novice will be hell, that's for sure. Especially when doing that broadside stance.
Oh yeah 100% its gonna take a lot of practice and muscle building in the arms and shoulders, which drekir don't exactly start off strong in. Hence why their bows tend to range between 30-50lbs with most being around 30-35lbs. Its not really possible for a drek to push their poundage up too much
I'd assume its more for hunting and such, instead of outright fighting?
EDIT: It freaking says so in the description. Nevermind me.

Oh yeah, to be clearer than the description
While sometimes weapons are made specifically for warfare (drekir belly picks for example) in many cultures it’s common to take your local hunting weapons to fights, be they atlatls, throwing sticks, crossbows, etc.
A 35lb shortbow is certainly dangerous, especially if an arrow hits and important part of the body. Moreover especially when drekir dens and tribes fight it is very typical for those fights to have ritualistic or endemic warfare aspects IE: you’re not usually trying to murder someone, it’s more about wounding and scaring than it is direct attempts to kill. There are exceptions to the rule and the bow can do the job, however as seen in many tribal societies it’s rare to see drekir trying to completely murder their opponents.
The sivilao are of course a different matter

Very nice. I imagine they might go for a Skain lock crossbow
fairly fast?
fairly fast?
That along with other designs like the colletiere style exist, along with more common crossbows that exist that are often based off of Inuit crossbows and other indigenous American designs.
Though crossbows are already something drekir use and a thing I’ve spoken on
