An illustration that I comissisoned the artist Wolnir to do. It depicts Sherbert Fox wandering the streets of Werwer, which is the international district of the capital city that Sherbert happens to dwell within.
Werwer is the file name of the project. To be quite honest, I have no idea why the artist named the attachment in the email such. She is from another country, so perhaps it is a dialogue difference? I have no idea.
When I happened to Google the word, it came up as Arabic for "to wail, cry, or lament". Since this is a desert city that has a tremendous impact on the state of affairs for all other races on the planet, I thought it would fit perfectly. The people of the planet Éremos have had quite a large number of historical conflicts. Imagine if your planet were inhabited by multiple sapient species, and how that would impact your political system.
To go even further on this meaning, the name Éremos is Greek for "We were", and the name for the capital city Cosmima means "Jewel". Therefore, based on the past struggles and origins of the international district, it translates to "We were lamenting the jewel of the desert". It all fits.

This is a beautiful piece, and nice story behind the naming!
Almost like a mural of rememberance in the ruins of a long abandoned city.

The city is more alive than ever. The traces of ruins that you see in some districts are remnants from a war. Thank you so much for your comment. <3
