Alone in her cave lived a dull little bat,
Content with her life, so absorbed by That,
The world outside was vibrant and full of light,
She held not a care, for she lacked the sight,
Beyond her home was what she wanted,
But with That so close it was merely flaunted,
Too hard to tear herself from her sin,
Instead she stayed alone, lost in what once had been.
Damned to her fate, damned by her own hand,
Swathed in self hate, she could never understand,
The dull little bat, too dumb to change,
In her reach, always That, it would only estrange.

I am still mostly away on hiatus but I found this old poem in my files, back when I was on Inkbunny.
