Figured I would have a go at the Express Yourself contest going on at the moment. Happy just for an excuse to share some music lol
One of the bands I've played guitar in started out as an instrumental pop-punk sort of thing but started getting heavier over time, and a lot of ideas I had were scrapped because they didn't quite fit the sound anymore. And while I am still really proud of the stuff we did end up writing I still have a soft spot for the cheesier, more upbeat stuff.
This is based off a 15 second snippet I haven't touched in 2 years, rewritten, rearranged and rerecorded for this contest. I really struggled with the intonation on my new guitar (gonna get that fixed soon) and a laggy DAW so hopefully it doesn't sound too bad.
As for the name, the song was supposed to be part of a pair; the other song was completed but alas never used either.

I like this, giving me classic emo vibes, best drums of anything I've heard on here in quite a while.
The tone of the guitar and bass sounds so clear and crisp! The intro into the drop the song is so GOOD. There is a lot of technique and your playing is clockwork! You can tell you have a lot of experience confectionating these, even whith a laggy daw!! Getting to the precicion and sync of playing that fast aint something easy. I can feel the work. I would definitively hear this on my phone. This is my favourite entry of the contest so far! The drums are FIRE
