Hey everyone!
Here's my first entry to the Furry Musicians' Express Yourself Contest. This is a boom-bap / lo-fi / jazz-esque beat that i made.
I feel that this track expresses myself because it combines two of my favorite genres - jazz and hip hop. While there's no true definition for what jazz IS, the unanimous decision is the artist is speaking their emotions and truth through the music. Based on improvisation and following few rules, jazz is considered to be one of the most free and expressive genres.
The piano track has a bit of a swiry vibe to it, so I felt like 'dizzy' was a fitting name.
Hope you enjoy, and best of luck to everyone else entering their tracks! Been listening to a lot of y'alls stuff and feel stoked to be participating with such talented folks. 💛

Love the soothing white noise into the piano with the good drum groove, and mixups with the kick. Really nice flowing bass too, the outro with the ambient rain feels real nice. The perfect fourths cascading down on the piano is sweet. <3
What key did you play this in? Do you know what chord progressions you typically use? (My fave is I-bVII-bVI, aka VI, V, IV, progressions)

Thank you! I was really happy with how this one turned out. I don’t really know the key top of mind, not very inclined on the theory side heh
I really like that bass tone. I woulda lowered the drums a little bit and maybe added just a hint of reverb so that they aren't so harsh. The piano work is superb and sounds amazing. I really liked your submission :)
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Mastering is something I’m still practicing tbh
