Letters to Leonid the Cold Lion: #2
Dear Leonid,
Now that you are President, what do you plan to do to restructure Russia so that we're not making the same mistakes we did with Putin? Also, did they tell you that you can only serve two terms, even though in Putin's case, it allowed him to serve two extra terms? What a joke he was!
Also, I hope you are not upset, but I fled the country. Even if you're improving Russia for the better, my family just can't stand it any longer. So we escaped to the first place that was willing to take us. Can you guess where that was? If you said the United States of America, you're correct. It was really the best choice for us.
But I wish you all the best in turning Russia around for the better.
Sincerely,
Dmitri Yakubovich, age 27 (puma)
Formerly Moscow, Russia
Currently in Anchorage, Alaska, USA
Leonid's response:
Dear Dmitri,
Thank you for writing to me. And I want to let you know that I am not upset that you chose to move to the United States of America. In fact, most of our human populations ended up moving there, because they provided better opportunities for better lives. Yes; I was indeed told that I can only serve two terms per our constitution, which should've been that way without exception here in Russia anyways.
Because the majority of our emigrants chose America, one of the first things I will do to help improve Russia is to learn from the Americans on what makes them the greatest nation on Earth. I will then apply those lessons in Russia before working with other countries, in order to get them to not only help us rebuild our country, but also invest in us as well. The west in general has provided a lot of ideas and products of why they are popular for business in this world, and how we can learn from them. People in the west don't just live better than we do; they also act better than we do.
Human rights is not just something that applies to the west, but rather applies to the world as well. The world has suffered way more than enough state violence as it is. Russia needs transparency to prove itself to the world that they are not a threat to their own people and to others. Life is precious, and we must make the best use out of them should we continue to progress forward. The better we take care of our people, the better they will take care of our country. And these days, private companies provide the best tools to help people take better care of their country through their own duties.
I also learned from the United States that the real reason why they have the best military in the world is because they do not have conscription. By not enforcing conscription, they are making it easier to allocate resources to citizens, who will work outside the military for companies that will provide better service and products to those in the military. Thus the American military has the best weapons and equipment to the point that they only need professional soldiers to use them on their jobs for defensive purposes. Some countries may not agree with me on this, but soon, they will learn why America has the best equipment for soldiers because they do business with them.
I wish you the best of luck in your new life in America, and I know you will live a great life. My American counterpart has done a tremendous job improving America, and with his plans for Manifest Destiny 2.0, you will have a lot to do there, especially in Alaska.
I hope this letter has answered your question. If not, feel free to let me know where I goofed so I can clarify.
Sincerely,
Leonid Markowski, a.k.a. Leonid the Cold Lion
President of the Russian Federation

Chuong: And Luong just got elected in Vietnam. Good thing Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam decided to finally suspend conscription. Now as for Russia, good luck finding outsiders who can advise you because your country is an enormous mess. Hopefully enough consultants from around the world can help you out.
Isaac: I think we Dutch can help out. We have to do our best to help Leonid out. Remember, no challenge is too hard for us.
Zax: And in America, impossible is just a word.

Leonid: I couldn't be more grateful; I need all the help I can get.
Leo: I want my people to stop stereotyping yours; just because you're Russian does not mean you drink vodka all the time and hack into people's computers. Or more recently, cheat on your body by doping.
Leonid: Not that people don't do that, but I am sick of the stereotypes.
Cold Snare: So am I.
