this is my first and probably only entry for the Express Yourself Contest. I started the track like three days ago and finished it yesterday during an internet outage, so the time spent on making music felt justified^^ (work time roughly 10h in total)
since 2020 my life has not changed that much, objectively speaking.
I spend most of my time studying and working from home and even though I work on different tasks and progress my skills, every day still kind of feels the same.
despite having this feeling of "looping inside" and being "frozen in time" the world definitely keeps spinning. as a huge introvert I don't mind being in my own little bubble, especially as happiness comes from the inside and I can still talk to my friends online. not sure how things will pan out in the future but I'm sure with the right mindset it'll be fine.

Sounds fantastic, awesome job. And I can definitely relate to feeling like your stuck doing the same things over and over.
thank you! focusing on one step after another usually makes everything work just fine.
also taking breaks and going on walks really helps when I need to clear my head.

thank you! speaking in relative terms, I think I improved a lot over the last couple of months.
I feel like it could always be better, but I usually try to stop at a point where it doesn't make sense to continue anymore (80/20 rule).

you definitely have a point there. kind of funny to compare it to the social triangle, haha ^^
every musician has different expectations when it comes to their work. studies can be very helpful when you want to advance in a certain field, for example sound design or mixing sessions.
it's all about getting that practice and finding out about the rules so that you know when to break them ;)
thank you for your kind words!

Yo! Been following your stuff for a while now, I gotta say you always have these great ambiences about your pieces and I think you've been getting even better!
Good job my dude, keep em comin!

thanks! I have a lot on my plate with university and work at the moment. I'll do what I can but at the end of the day music is just a hobby.
Really like the piano chords and that guitar(?) sample that comes in the background at around 0:30. Gives it a fresh sound ^^
For me those past years where kinda as if they were skipped. Looking at some musicvideos I like I found out some of them are 10+ years old by now and it made me feel really old even though I am only 24 ^^' It's so weird, time keeps moving on and you can't do anything about it. And you shouldn't try to I guess x) Also made me realise that there are a couple of things I always wanted to do and postponed to "when I am older" but I guess the time is now and I should actively work on those things...

thank you :3 and yes, I recorded and processed my guitar for that sound^^
yeah, I definitely feel that. the older you get the faster things happen. it's important to think about where you want to be in the future and working towards that goal in small steps. there is usually way too many things to take care of, so priorities need to be set.
as long as you primarily work on things that matter to you/that you're passionate about, your time is well invested and there is nothing to regret. everything else is just a bonus if you manage to spend a couple of hours here and there imo.
