Now, this car has given me the most issues recently.
The camshaft gear broke back in Oct. 2020. That bent valves in the cylinder heads...
Long story short, I spent the next year rebuilding the engine trying to get this car back on the road and, it's still broken. I refreshed the engine with new, exhaust manifolds, new remanufactured heads, new camshaft, new lifters, used intake manifold set up for a 4-barrel carburetor, a very old used Holley 4160 600 CFM carburetor, new dual exhaust, new timing chain, and new gaskets all around.
So many new parts, and after breaking in the engine I had the intake cam lobe wipe out on cylinder 6.
I know what some gear heads are thinking, "tear the engine down and send the engine off the machine shop." Well... That's not going to happen. That costs as much as a used engine. So, just like the modern Mopar Hemi engines, I'm gonna flush the engine and put a new cam and lifters and send it. As long as we have more than 15psi oil pressure and the engine isn't knocking I've won.
