New art for the latest Kamigawa set of Magic: the Gathering!
This one was a struggle and a half to puzzle out in the beginning. There was obviously a lot of background space to fill and the angle made it so that I had to really be mindful of the perspective throughout, but in the end it all came together pretty well and I'm happy with the outcome!

Since I know nothing about M:TG, I consider myself free to construct an alternative headcanon of a world of minor deities in which this glorious pupper is on a gallant mission to raid an exciting new ramen joint in alliance with a small pack of Flying Spaghetti Monsters who are slaveringly eager for broth but don't have the collective thaumaturgical power to acquire their own without assistance.
The restaurant owner will be exasperated, but she likes dogs, and the Flying Ramen Kemono are said to be good luck — and more importantly they tend to clean minor vermin out of the kitchen. So pupper will get an extra slice of chashu tonight, and maybe even a spot before the big cast-iron stove as it gently emits its accumulated warmth through the night.
