My submission for the Express Yourself Contest 2022.
Pardon me in advance if this gets a little wordy, but I would like to say up front that I often struggle to express my emotions through my own music. I am deeply moved by the music of others, but I think I struggle to put my own feelings into music without feeling too critical of what I make. I have been making music for a little while now, and am currently a music production student, but I often times feel like my creative abilities aren't as good as my colleagues. I have been pushing myself to create in spite of those feelings, however, and have been doing my best to create music that I enjoy instead of trying to be "right". I'd say I have a lot of disparate influences (to put it lightly), but I'd say broadly, rock and electronic have always been where I feel most at home, and I feel there isn't enough music combining these two, more specifically, drum and bass with lots of rock instrumentation. I grew up playing drums and later moved to guitar, and while I've been playing both instruments for quite some time, I've always felt most confident when working electronically. I decided I wanted to make something combining my instrumental abilities with my ear for more electronic styles and I hope the end result is enjoyable for other folks. Ultimately, all I can ask for is that my music is able to speak to others the way other people's music does for me, and while this track may not be the most emotional in nature, I like to think that the more I work on anything, the more my voice and emotions will begin to shine through, even with a more dance/soundtrack oriented piece like this one.
This isn't usually where I upload my music, so I'm sorry in advance for anyone who happens to be looking for more. I may share that in the future, but for the time being, I'm looking to keep those two things separate, given the nature of my presence on this website. For anyone here who's more interested in my usual fair, it's still happening but if you took the time to give this a listen, I appreciate your time very much and I hope you enjoyed it.

Liberal use of the Argent Compressor provides fun results. I highly recommend looking into it if you like weird sound design or aggressive processing (And it's very affordable).
