Serrira is home to as many as 36 different and unique species and races. Each member of the planet shares a genetic code that, despite their opposing anatomy and origins, allows cross-breeding and hybrids galore. This implies that evolution moves fairly fast on this planet, creating more races as time goes on.
What defines someone/something as 'Serrian'?
Serriran inhabitants have fairly refined anatomy, even more so than humans and our adaptive genetics. Their genetic pool contains a variety of SNA (Serrdidinoacluiec Acid) that is highly interchangeable. Even those a part of the same race can admit that those raised in different areas do in fact have unique traits due to their environment. From fur length to mannerisms to speech patterns.
Though the debate has been heated for eons, many Serrirans agree that possessing their unique array of genes makes someone a true Serriran. Those that arrive from the stars and the outside worlds are deemed "Miscells", and often are those that have arrived from Stargates and the like to embrace this relatively peaceful environment.
All Serrirans possess as follows;
• Two vocal chords; one guttural and one vocal. The Guttural chords are made of white muscle, and often elicit more animal-like sounds out of duress or shock. (hisses, clicks, roars, etc.) Vocal Chords are made of red muscle, and can form eloquent words and complex speech over a long period of time. Each race pertains its animal qualities, while embracing a form of anthropomorphism that many civilizations follow for the sake of success.
• Specific Genitalia; this aspect is more for the mortals and mediums, but all races of serrira that are able to reproduce possess the same anatomy when it comes to their courting phases. Whether a species is hermaphroditical or binary, all male anatomy is similar to a prehensile, tongue-like member while females act as a carrier and often give live birth. The boundary between mammals, insects, reptiles, and avian is thinned, but their genitalia and birth canals are a mix of the 4 kingdoms. Because they all possess the same aspects of their anatomy, this is further evidence that they're all tied to one another somehow. The species genes itself have recessive and dominant aspects if hybrid courting occurs; ensuring that the offspring are often alike their parents. Rarely, some offspring get an equal amount of traits from both parents, and they often become the catalyst for a new race to be formed.
• Reception to Aura; all Serrirans have an amount of aura flowing through them, and their structure as creatures upon this planet are drawn to it. Mortals' blood is dyed the color of their character, whereas mediums and ethereals can manipulate it in the form of elemental prowess. There is a catch, however, as specific powers align with specific aura hues. If someone wishes to be a water-mage, they must develop the discipline of a relaxed personality. If someone wishes to be a fire-wielder, they must embody the character of the element, becoming impulsive and wild. Whether in small doses or large, all Serrirans can process aura without harm to an extent.
Too much aura can result in bodily shock; ending a Serriran's life 99% of the time.
Moonshock is when a Serriran is exposed to a lethal amount of blue aura. It corrodes the tear ducts, and forces tears out at all times. It breaks the minds of the afflicted, and they end their own lives shortly after. Moonshock is the toxic aura's impact on the mind. If those who are afflicted flee the scene alive and get therapy, they often leave the experience mentally changed and broken. Often times, the side effects are;
-Nervous Damage
-Hearing Voices
-Intense Dreams and/or Nightmares
-Mental Scarring
-Uncomfortable Body Sensations
Moonshock closely effects the neurons and myelin the brain and nervous systems, draining all those involved both mentally and emotionally.
Sunshock is when a Serriran is introduced to a lethal amount of red aura. They become alike to rabid animals; seizing, convulsing, and unable to freely move as the aura overstimulates the muscles and organs, causing quick necrosis and failure. Often, they appear confused and dazed, but lash out when the guards of those around them are lowered. Often times, the side effects are;
-Blindness
-Deafness
-Necrosis of Limbs/Appendages
-Delusions of Grandeur
-Immunocompromised Systems
Sunshock closely effects the muscle cells and immune systems of the body, weakening and killing them in excess.
Carbon based life forms and those from other reaches outside of their universe cannot process it. Humans, after being introduced to Serrira, underwent a process carried out by the Orune to transform their carbon base into the Servifon base that Serrira relies on for aura management and melding of different races. This aura entirely changed the composition of humans, granting them every other trait in this list as a result of the uncontrolled and rapid evolution SNA is capable of.
While aura does have a toxic limit, it is hardly a problem. Ethereals and mortals can still safely maintain any relationship they choose, and such poisonings only happen if a mortal attends an ethereal funeral; as the aura from these creatures heavily pours into the very atmosphere of the corridors, exposing a lethal amount of their aura to any mortal nearby for a duration.
Aura, as a positive point, can provide those who suffer mortal injuries a second chance. The aura serves a servitude to the body of mortals, and often keeps it alive even though by all accounts it should be done for. These are what Serrirans call 'strides', or extra lives.
Mortals are born with 3, Mediums 4, and Ethereals 2.
Exceptions to this rule are deaths involving absolute obliteration, disintegration, and likewise mass destruction of the body. 90% of organs must remain within the Serriran if they are to commit to this resurrection. Once the strides have been used up, the weakened aura bleeds into the earth, reforming with the cycle of aura within the earth that keeps everything mortal and ethereal alike going.

What are the races?
Each race on this world has their own cliques and cultures, a sense of individuality among the others. They live in the areas that suit them best; and often stay close together to form prefectures and countries. Of course, mingling and border crossing was not disallowed, and so while you could find any species in any location, you may not encounter just the members of that prefecture/country.
(In Order by Graph)
•Eliopods•
(Eli-oh-pods)
The Eliopods, a fluffy sauropod-like species brought into existence with the Heart of Blue Aura Yukilux, these creatures have a long, expansive history in this world. They are often associated with life and nature itself. However, many of these Eliopods are not Yukilux's own children. From the same meteor Yukilux arose from, two more eliopods emerged. Between themselves, they took it upon themselves to populate the world with Eliopods. Many Eliopods today were born by the descendants of these two, forming many miniature families among themselves called 'herds'. As they are ethereal, mating is a somewhat alien concept to them, but each Eliopod retains a marking from birth that elicits pleasure and an asexual reproductive method. The "mate spot" of an Eliopod varies member to member, but those that want to bear kits trigger a reaction within them that pertains to throwing up the yolk of the egg alone. This yolk then absorbs the landscape around it, ensuring it's SNA is different from it's parent. After enough of an element has been absorbed, the shell forms around the yolk to allow it to grow inside, eventually hatching into a baby eliopod. They are often associated with motherhood and sacrifice.
Like all ethereals following this; they are able to go between a more bipedal style form and a more feral quadruped style form at will.
•Pteropods•
(Tear-o-pods)
The Pteropods are a soft deer-pterosaur hybrid brought into the world by the Heart of Slate Aura Vitalux. Being the youngest of the Orune, they have accomplished much. More members of this race were created as Vitalux shed their horn. This horn would erode into the soil without raising an emotion, sprouting the tree that will eventually bear one fruit; a Pteropod kit. They are fairly self reliant, and often seclude themselves from other people. They often take refuge in caves and mountain villages, often keeping to themselves in 'flocks'. They're seen as wise elders among mediums and mortals, and typically group into towns to strictly build temples and memorials. Of course, not all Pteropods behave this collectively, but it's their subculture. They keep much of the history of Serrira alive, both by word of mouth and recounting stories of the past to one another constantly.
•Fearopods•
(Feath-roe-pods)
Feropods are a feathered and brittle-furred take on raptors and hyenas brought into existence by the Heart of Red Aura, Pozharlux. This race rules over their land as a 'pack', only ever hunting in small groups. They are rarely joining forces with one another, instead fighting among themselves. They're all associated with being overtly proud and confident, yet when eyes are not placed on them they crumble under silence. They're often seen forming gangs in cities and rural areas alike, tough and always willing to stir up some chaos if they feel it's justified. Not all Feropods are ferocious and unyielding, however; some use their natural born strength to handle molten rock with their bare hands. While this process is odd to us; it's the essentials of motherhood and parental courtship for them. They preform this elaborate movement routine to infuse the magma with life, before quickly dashing an element of choice onto it's surface. Now charged with aura and life, the 'lava egg' becomes a time bomb. It rockets into the air once the material has been burnt down, and what lands from the sky is a young Feropod kit. To decide on who has to commit to this dance, Feropod courting shows two members using their horns akin to deer; fighting the other until they cave to their dominance.
Dominant parties are gender-blind; ethereal creatures such as this do not understand the mortal concept of gender, and thus assign themselves however they feel. The same can be said for all ethereal creatures on Serrira.
•Serrdids•
(Sir-did)
Often thought to be the root of all Serriran Races, Serrdids as a species have evolved with modern times bearing the bodies and bones of deer, but a lion's tail and a rabbit's ears- along with a mane that cradled the back of their heads like an overcoat. At a point, this species was strictly anthropomorphic. But upon evolution reaching a more dominant bipedal shape, their bodies evolved in time. In the modern era, many have 5 digit hands like us, although their structure is more akin to a raccoon hand. As an ancient quadruped race, their paws were more akin to furred hooves, tightly packed together and able to bound across fields in the midst of the Ice Age. This race has long been the subject of a Medium-Mortal classification debate; as their horns are able to use aura, but the remainder of their body is alike any other mortal and just as subject to aura poisoning. With the modern-aged Serrdids, their current classification is mortal, but it swaps hands every decade or so.
•Aligrei•
(Ah-lee-grey)
Aligrei, a Serriran spin on the word for 'allegory', was one of the first mortal species to gain the capacity to fly. In doing so, this wing anatomy and ability became fairly sought after and desired. But many Aligrei would be stuck up, secluding themselves to scarce villages and ex-Pteropod territories, claiming the land as holy. That was until one Aligrei dismantled any notion of faith not just to his own kind, but to every race at once. His efforts are remembered fondly, and many Aligrei lost their strict demeanors soon after. They exist in modern times often as those who deliver mail and gifts to others. They have become like birds; social, friendly, and a little sassy.
•Serriran Dragon•
(Sir-rear-an . Dra-gon)
Serriran Dragons were the first official medium Serrira saw. Formed by the collective powers of the Orunes, the first dragon inherited traits of all three Orune. Shedding their horns akin to Pteropods, more dragons were born from the earth. Some chose to stay with the origin while others flew across the world to explore. They discovered aura-element alignment, mastered it, and were able to show the true power of the life force this planet had. And though mortals could not understand it on the level the dragons could, they understood that the subject must be approached with caution. Aura toxicity had been witnessed before, and they quickly understood just what surrounded them with every breath and movement. Dragons on Serrira are often associated with ethereal powers and strength, as well as the earliest recorded documentation of history in Serriran society.
•Herrian•
(Here-`-an)
Herrians are the first created species of Yukilux. As an assignment from the Father Orune, if his three children could prove life was possible on this world, he would grant them possession of the continents they thrived on. Mirror's creation was the Herrians; a moth-lion-crocodile like species. Being ethereal, they could harness the same powers as the Eliopods, and Herrians were in a symbiotic relationship with the Eliopod species, often cleaning their nest of rodents and bugs to gain protection from this species that's larger than themselves. As the times changed, they became bipedal with their Eliopod allies, and to this day Eliopods are often close family or friends with Herrians, ensuring this symbiotic relationship continues. They're often shy and cautious of strangers, but become a hyperactive ball of fluff when around close friends!
•Kyotians•
(Keo-sh-ans)
Kyotians are a species made by Vitalux as a symbol of wisdom. While symbiotic with the Pteropods to a degree, since neither party wanted much to do with one another they're often confined to their own villages, bunching up together over harsh conditions and external attack. Kyotians are instinctively bent to protect the traditions and species of this world; and in modern times are often associated with wildlife protection agencies as well as gardening and harvesting plants. The nubs that dangle beside their cheeks are soft and squishy, containing a sort of liquid aura that they use to see the land around them in aura. Their eyes are permanently shut and vesitigal. Even though legends say that if a Kyotian opens it's eyes your mind breaks, fact remains that Kyotians are physically unable to open their eyes at all; entirely dependent on the aura of their environment to navigate it.
•Dustbeast•
(D-ust . B-ea-st)
Formed by Pozharlux, these creatures embody the might and uncontrollable damage of extreme weather conditions. Made from the same materials as clouds and fog, they're often called Dustbeasts. Eliopods, often hunted by this race as prey, demean these foes by calling them 'Dust Dragons', a slur in reference to Tieagerlight. He was unspecified Serriran who lost all of his strides in one foolish swoop, sparking an almost instinctive feud between dragons and eliopod over which member of their race was dumb enough to lose all of their strides in a single attempt to seem admirable. Dustbeasts are often heralds of disaster and destruction, only settling once the light of the sun shines upon them. In modern times, they often act as apprentices to Fearopod packs, cronies and goonies alike. Although not all Dustbeasts engage in this behavior, they are more red-aura inclined as a species.
•Avilli•
(Ah-vi-lee)
Avilli were the first Serriran race to possess feathered wings, are often more alike birds than Aligrei; making houses and even entire cities within networks of trees and cliffs. They're known for their long legs, often using them in lieu of their wings to pick up and examine things. They can move their eyes much how we can, but don't have nictitating membranes like many birds. They are often associated with the air force and likewise aerial performance and skill; as well as being stereotyped to have a strong moral compass. A member of their race had once judged an entire armada the same as any civilian, and such a feat has left an impact. Many Avilli strive to be lawyers and the like, but even those that don't keep themselves occupied showing the glory of flight to the mortals below.
•Misligrei•
(Miss-lee-grey)
Their name was a Serriran play on the word 'misleading'. Beneath their exterior, this race is entirely made of bug-like anatomy. An exoskeleton that grows bee and moth-like fluff to fool predators eventually came to be known for their scarcity. Despite the many grubs a queen births, many grubs don't make it past the first year, and those that live long enough to leave the hive do so after 18 years of eating their own mother's corpse. When resources become drained, many grubs would turn to cannibalism. But after their mother is gone, they decide among themselves who would permanently leave the home they built and who would stay to lure in another mate to refill the empty hive with young; beginning the cycle anew. Typically, the divide is an even 50/50, but every hive is different. These creatures are often mistaken as dragons and even aliens, but they're Serrirans to the core. Their wings are retractable, and often fold into their bodies at will. As mediums, they have manipulation over aura, and can harness its elemental prowess. Some hives use this fact to their advantage, crafting specific classes and cliques for different 'intangible' aura abilities. The process of controlling psychic powers, light manipulation, and even shadow-mage training would be done secretively within these hives. It's often a well kept secret how this training progresses, but those lucky enough to be born or adopted into a hive of intangible prowess often leave the hive to become powerful mages of their craft, unstoppable by many means, but taking their power in humble stride.
•Bulletbits•
(Beu-le-bits)
Bullebits are often associated with time, as a member of their species was the first one to come up with the standardized concept. Having done this, they are often stereotyped for being on time and having an affinity for clocks and gears, although of course this isn't always the case. With turtle snouts, axolotl fins, and debatably plant-like tails, they're often seen as amphibian; with otter-like fur close to the Shealk Dragons they're buoyant on the water, preferring clean streams and lakes over the salty waters of the ocean. They use their whiskers to sense changes in aura and the air. They sometimes use it to communicate with one another as well, sending out small vibrations that can be felt across their 'pod'. They're often seen forming unique lakeside towns and cities.
•Starpups•
(star-pups)
Born from meteors, this species is evidence that aura has an uncontrollable habit of altering the structure of creatures. Once a meteor lands on Serrira, the cosmic energy from the fragments is pushed into the rocks like a magnet, birthing Starpups in a fashion similar to a miniature supernova. Those born from the same meteor recognize one another as family, and form their 'pack' around this. While some Serrirans will gripe and grumble about how Starpups aren't 'true' Serriran ethereals, the Orune have already formally welcomed them as a species. They often explore the boundaries of space with Father Orune, reaching out far into the galaxy from whence they came to aid those back home in understanding their spatial orientation.
•Mona Dragons•
(Moan-a . Dra-gon)
Born from the rare occurrence where moonlight shines onto a lake and a dead body is placed into it, aura creeps into the deceased and transforms them into Mona Dragons. They're often seen in history as allies to Dreamveil Dragons, both species in collaboration keeping Plasma Bat populations under control. Once the modern era rolled around, Mona Dragons are a somewhat rarer sight, and often exhibit behaviors more alike to cats than dragons. They're often used and depicted in spooky Hollowpool celebrations (akin to Halloween on Earth); frightening those around them for harmless fun. They aid in the donation of Hollowpool goods to Dreamveils in a futile attempt by many to bring good fortune and extend their own lives. But the Mona Dragons know better than everyone; death doesn't accept bribes.
•Plasma Bats•
(Plas-ma . Ba-ts)
Plasma Bats are spoken on the streets as 'those who claim your last breath before anyone can hear it'. They're the primary reaping agent for the Dreamveils, often serving one dragon alongside 20 others of their own kind. The Dreamveil they serve provides these Bats with a sense of protection from others, yet when a Plasma Bat cannot reap essence anymore due to fatigue or job loss, they all collectively gather in an area known in the Dreamveil as the 'Fogfields'. Here, Mona Dragons and Dreamveils alike hunt Plasma bats for nourishment; nothing more. They're often depicted as shady, sneaky, and untrustworthy, likely due to their occupation as one who would snatch the life of your loved ones away. However, some perceive them as a silent good- ensuring someone's suffering is over before taking them to where pain cannot follow them.
•Crystl Cryter•
(Cry-stal . Crit-err)
Born and secluding themselves to caves, this species is often associated with crystals and alternative medicine. While not the most desirable occupation or state of existence, this race takes it in full stride. They often gather crystals laden with aura and sell them to passerby's on their mountain. While some are uncareful and some crystals mildly toxic, those who are skilled at their craft sell crystals that enhance the powers of ethereals and lessen the pain of mortals alike. They often use the antennae on their forehead to locate crystals as well as sense which aura alignment they are. Then, using their powerful tails, they cut the crystals down and use tools to divide them into appropriately sized pieces for sale. They're associated with the jewelry market closely, and often a Crystl Cryter in the modern age is associated with jewelry crafting at first glance.
•Sleiguien•
(Slig-goo-ien)
This species is often associated with the Bullebits in terms of amphibian nature and the close tie to water sources. However, unlike the Bullebits, this species can live adaptively to both salty and fresh water. They often are seen making beach towns and villages in humid jungles. Their ears act as secondary pairs of hands, able to strike and pick up objects while keeping their genuine paws open for use. They're often associated with being akin to a dog- loyal, bouncy, and overtly playful. Not every Sleiguien is like this of course, but most behave similarly to the canines of earth. Their distinct, boneless, slug-like anatomy gives them a few upper hands against their fellow Serrirans like able to be one of the few mortal species to physically alter their RNA to take a quadrupedal or bipedal form at will. While this process still boggles scientists to this day, the Sleiguien commits to it anyway, because they're having too much fun to worry themselves with what other people think is impossible. Their skin is also fairly rubber-like, and can be stretched and pulled without much stress. This, too, baffles scientists.
•Serriran Penguins•
(Sir-rear-an . Pen-goo-ins)
Many Serrirans don't even know this race exists; largely due in part to the fact they live on the perceived 'uninhabitable' arctic base of the planet; something that could surmount to Antarctica on Serrira. This race had been brought into existence by Mirror. Upon discovering earth penguins, Mirror took a handful of them from Earth and brought them to Serrira. From this point on, aura did it's work, and they evolved with the course of aura. Once a bird that couldn't fly and swam swiftly in the water, they've become a bipedal race with antennae, large ears, and a thick fur and oily feather mixture. Much of this race goes unnoticed by the modern world, and they disregard them in return. They keep to themselves, and have done so for eons. People are unsure when, or if, they'll ever embrace the modern era; but many keep to themselves out of politeness, not wanting to push these penguins to change too fast. After all; they are fairly adorable, and associated as such in modern culture.
•Dreamveil Dragons•
(Dream-veil . Dra-gon)
Dreamveil Dragons are the definition of death for many Serrirans. So much as seeing one of any alignment is somewhat considered a bad omen, and they're depicted in folklore as the cause of death for many. However, much of the truth is different. Instead of causing and delivering death, Dreamveils act as the veins in which aura can flow into the heart of the earth. They wander the mortal plane for a short time, and eventually find somebody in their last moments- untouched or abandoned by a Plasma Bat. They aid them into the Dreamveil- the place where the conscious and aware essences of the deceased gather and live out their dreams before being recycled to the center of the earth for aura redistribution. They understand the backlash they get for their profession, and often shrug it off as a mortal struggle. Regardless of this, some pursue to meet a Dreamveil Dragon, be it for personal reasons or to befriend and attempt to shatter this misconception all together. While some Dreamveils make friends out of mortals and wander the world with them, many are content to staying within the Dreamveil; ensuring the aura within the earth remains uncorrupted and untouched by mortals who can't handle it. Their appearance, despite their grim nature, is often portrayed as cute and approachable; as many Serrirans don't outright fear death, but respect it and understand it as a natural part of their life cycle.
•Zerraehorns•
(Zer-ai-hor-ns)
While Crystl Cryters use crystals remedially, Zerraehorns have such rocks growing from their heads. A refined medium, Zerraehorns are able to harness the power of aura through their horns without bodily harm, even better than some Gemnose dragons. They're often depicted largely in the same way earth scientists are; able to understand aura and explain it to those who cannot understand it. They often are depicted as clever and smart, though some are more carefree and laid back. While they are immune to aura poisoning, they can retain mortal damage all the same, and some Zerraehorns learn the hard way that even though their aura powers are strong, they're not immune to consequence or damage. Scars are a common sight among Zerraehorn populations.
•Feaquines•
(Fay-quine-s)
Thought to be born between a quadruped and an Avilli, Feaquines are genetic proof that not only is crossbreeding a very possible reality, but that the rate of evolution on this planet is rapid and unstoppable. They often possess owl-like traits, able to rotate their heads 180 degrees around. Their wingspan is rather large compared to their body length, and as such fly in relative silence alongside their Avilli allies. They're often seen preening each others feathers like family, fighting alongside one another if needed. Feaquines, in contrast to the Avilli, are often seen as a touch reckless. Often as wild as the breeze, they're known for not staying in one place for long, often only staying in a location to graze and eat before flying elsewhere. Those that do settle in a location often offer services to the public such as rides upon their backs to locations in the air that mortals can't reach.
•Sheakyll•
(Shay-kill)
The Sheakyll are a nomadic species, often not bunching into groups or likewise and instead striking out on their own and accomplishing things themselves. They only typically come together to mate, and the Serriran who takes the more parental role is the one who raises the child. In the rare occasions they do come together and form a town, it's often near rocky ocean bluffs; fish being their main diet and icy conditions suiting them best. To compare it to earth, they are alike to Vikings and Scandinavians. They were thought to be the first ones to begin a written language, one that spread across Pohzarlux's lands and eventually came to be known as Slaeviac Serriran. It was alike to Russian on earth, and their native tongue quickly sparked a language revolution on their side of the globe. Some of the first legends and folklore were written by Sheakyll on their nomadic travels.
•Alpine Dragon•
(Al-pine . Dra-gon)
Living near mountains and tall evergreen forests, Alpine Dragons are the closest descendant of Serriran Dragons. Crossed with an Aligrei to an extent, they're more akin to a wyvern than a quadrupedal dragon, but the name still suits them as draconic blood flows through their veins. As a medium, this powerful blood allows them to process aura the same way an ethereal does, but only to an extent. The living conditions for this species have to be somewhat perfect, as too much aura can lead to shock. They're often the subject of 'canary in a coal mine' jokes due to this fragile relationship with natural aura; but they're often dismissive of these jokes despite the real consequences. Instead of talons, they possess paws for legs, able to run as fast as they can fly. Their claws are also fairly long and able to be sheathed, allowing for expert branching and habitable homes within the redwoods of the mountains. They're often depicted as guards of the Orune, as many of the Orune live in the peaks of unsurmountable mountains.
•Serriran Precursors•
(Sir-rear-an . Pre-curs-or-s)
Much of what remains of this species lays within lore and mystery. If you ask any modern day Serriran who the Precursors were, they'd tilt their head in confusion. They have gone unnoticed and presumed extinct for eons. But one lone member remains; the Father Orune known simply as Orayon. He isn't bothered by his unnoticed and unacknowledged existence, more so troubling himself with the state of cosmic and planetary affairs. He ensures that any meteor, comet, or likewise threat is dealt with singlehandedly, and while his power isn't known widely, it's subconsciously appreciated with every breath. They possess no fur, instead bearing human-like skin. Once, there were many precursors setting down the framework for a functional society. But slowly, due to a new sort of energy their bodies couldn't fight against, they went extinct. Orayon was kept alive due to the circumstances of his lore. He was the only Precursor to be rendered entirely blind by the light of the sun. Despite this, he possesses an unprecedented aura-reading ability; able to read even bacterial aura to manage around the world he calls home. This power often goes unused, however, as he confines himself to the Oblivion Plane; deep within his machine-made-home the 'Great Astral Nexus' and has memorized its layout like the back of his eyelids. He single handedly raised the Orunes, ensuring the world they gave life to was peaceful and unbothered by spatial stressors.
•Healio Slugs•
(Heal-io . Sl-ugh-s)
Thought to be a descendant of the first finned creature to walk on land, Healio Slugs are known to be proud of their origins. They often take refuge in seaside caves; holding a large amount of respect for the ocean from whence they came. Some take this dedication to the sea to a point, making underwater cities where no 'furred beasts' can enter. Regardless of which territory a Healio Slug inhabits, they are a marvel to scientific communities. They possess both gills and lungs, allowing scientists to better find the generational gap between the original life in the ocean to new life on land. Regardless of these scientific leaps, Healio Slugs are rarely a topic of discussion. They keep to themselves, and are a rare inhabitant of cities or modern amenities. They still possess them, but they prefer not to acknowledge the ones with fur that gave them these ammenities. Blinded by pride and arrogance, it's unsure how much longer this species will be around.
•Biolyths•
(Bio-lyfs)
Made of plant and animal matter, the fact this species was even made at all seems bizarre. Born in a lab to thin the lines between plant and animal, Biolyths were made to combat a sort of plant that made Serrirans sick. Beginning humbly, many Biolyths were released from lab containment at age 18, into the world as fresh young minds. They're often associated with the recklessness of youth and the naivety of younger people. Regardless of this, the Biolyths are thriving. They don't need food to stay alive, using their leafy tails and skin to photosynthesize. Their claws are made of the same material as Zerraehorn horns, and as such are able to control aura to a degree, earning their own place as Serrirans. They were made in 3018 and accepted as Serrirans in 3098.
•Origvie•
(or-ij-vee)
Origvie are a species known for being wildly adaptable to their environment. Alike to the Serrdids, their status as Medium-vs-Mortal has mostly rested on mortal. However, occasionally a specimen is born with a strong aura alignment, and everything from their appearance to their anatomy changes to match their environment. Often times, these members of their species become the leaders of their clan. Sometimes, they flee from their clans and meet up with those the same alignment as them; often forming small groups of Origvie that look a far cry from the original. They call themselves different names centered around the element they specialize best in to match and to categorize themselves. The current names for these variants are;
-Origvie (Original)
-Iclylvie (Ice)
-Vitavie (Life)
-Mephilvie (Darkness)
-Luxilvie (Light)
-Mizuvie (Water)
-Plasvie (Electricity)
-Hiuvie (Fire)
-Ishivie (Rock)
•Shaelk Dragon•
(Sh-elk . Dra-gon)
These seafaring dragons are notorious for being the first species to commit what could be considered piracy on the open seas. With otter-like fur to keep them buoyant while sleeping and a large wingspan allowing them to fly miles a day over the ocean, the Shaelk Dragons are a tuned mixture of land animal and sea animal. They often build their cities and towns on the ocean itself, utilizing buoyant technology to keep everything afloat and stable at all times. They often feud with Healio Slugs over seafaring territories and materials, and the two races are known for having a beef with one another. Sources can never truly pinpoint who started this feud, but from an outsider looking in, the Shaelk Dragons appear to be winning; driving most Healio Slugs to the seaside coasts in lieu of the expansive ocean. Some ancient and long standing territories are respected and untouched, but their stability, too, is wavering in modern times.
•Gemnose Dragon•
(Jem-no-se . Dra-gon)
Gemnose Dragons are a modern iteration of the original Serriran Dragon. Often keeping to themselves near Pteropod and Kyotian prefectures, they dedicate most of their time to preserving their bond with aura. Dragons are born all the same, with blackened horns covered in skin. After 6 months, the Gemnose pups are sent off to fly to a far off location, then fly back. These flight routes are very precise, and have become a bit of a viewing party for other earthbound Serrirans in the past. Tens to Hundreds of Thousands of kits fly across the sky to find out which element their aura aligns with. Some dive into the ocean, only to have the ocean water erode the skin off their horns, granting them water aura powers. Others may be struck by lightning on their path, the electrical shock allowing them to shake off the obstructing skin and harness the power of electricity; and so on and so fourth. Sadly, some kits die on the journey, but those that make it home harness these abilities as much as they can. Some venture into the world as individuals. In modern times, sets and kits have been made to alert a Gemnose dragon to it's elemental prowess, so the fatality of making the journey has been largely reduced to almost zero. Although, some Gemnose parents still commit to this traditional journey across the land, and whether their pup dies or not is still a nervous chance they're willing to take.
•Vertipi•
(ver-teh-pie)
Living in the dark depths of the sea, few people have seen a Vertipi in the past. They have their own in-depth society under the ocean where no light treads. However, due to the popularity of raw fish as a cuisine, Vertipi have been caught in nets, shouting and cursing in Serriran being dragged up and confusing very many a fisher. A few have been tempted to the surface, and with the same RNA altering abilities as Sleiguien, they've become bipedal to appease to others. Some have abandoned their deep sea homes to live life on the surface, developing two subsets of Vertipi; the lunged and the gilled. They feud interchangeably, and often don't talk to one another. However, those that have come to the land have nothing but praise for the amenities towards every race. Though many Vertipi can agree; fishing methods need to be managed to avoid conflict with their seafaring cousins.
•Craebble•
(Cray-able)
The Craebble come from the same depths of the ocean as Vertipi, but reside more closely towards Red-Aura areas. With hard shells and sturdy claws, they're adapt to tearing through rock and coral to reach undersea nutrients and fish. They often live on small islands, coming together to mate before diving back into the ocean. After a revolution in bipedal populous, some Craebble wandered to the surface, meeting a world of Slaeviac Serriran and people who had hard exteriors much alike them. They've been living beside Sheakyll for generations, and the two races have evolved closely together. Craebble are often seen fishing for them when times are rough, and the Sheakyll repay the favor by giving the Craebble a place to sleep and a plentiful portion of their catches. Despite the Sheakyll's nomadic and more inland nature, many Craebble hold Sheakyll territories under their titles while they wander, ensuring the land is upkept and maintained for the day they return if they ever do. This cycle of land exchange has been occurring for generations, to the point that this species cannot thrive without the other.
•Cervigon•
(Ker-vee-gon)
These elk-unicorn-deer like creatures are often thought of as the modern iteration of the Serrdids. Even modern Serrdids admit that perhaps they are closer to family than not. These creatures lead one another in tightly knit families, often claiming a hold on forest territories. They preserve and ensure that their home remains in pristine condition. Despite being mortal, people claim that they are mediums or ethereals, which any Cervigon could disprove. Regardless, they form quaint and humble suburbs within the woods alike to Alpine Dragons, even sharing territories with them. Many outsiders loop Cervigon with wingless dragons as well, but this too isn't the case. Cervigon, in the ancient times, were once prey to the first dragons. But once modernization took a strong suit, tensions were settled as more acceptable forms of food were introduced to a collected planetary society. To this day, Cervigon remain a close ally to dragons, and many of them employ the help of dragons to protect their homes in exchange for food and peaceful living situations should disaster strike.
•Chitien•
(Cheh-ee-ten)
A fairly new race introduced to the mix, Chitien are somewhat of an oddity. With wings as tails, an insect like head, and rat-like paws, origins of this bizarre race are uncertain. But they're commonly associated with hardened, carnivorous warriors. Their quadruped days were short lived, but during that time they were a menace to deal with. They often only travelled in pairs; a male and a female. Any children they had would be buried in the ground to gestate for 7 years before emerging as a fully grown adult, blind and unaware to the chaos they were causing on the land. Once their eyes opened, they began a secluded life in swamps and murky forests, eventually finding a mate and recreating the cycle anew. As bipedal citizens, they've designated specific territories to lay their eggs, and often raise them as a pair. Due to this species' hermaphroditical anatomy, they often align as they see fit. Many grow to become members of the military, although some strive for different paths. As is the case with every race on Serrira; never judge a Serriran by it's shape.
•Faegon•
(Fay-gon)
An almost perfectly tuned mix of fairy elements and draconic blood, these ethereals are often protectors and guardians of large forests. As ethereals, they are rarely seen outside of their forest homes, opting instead to stay to their own societies and keep outsiders from entering. Young are born from flowers these Faegon cry upon. The flower then wilts, and a new stem replaces the stigma of the plant with an egg. Within 4 weeks, the stigma-bound egg hatches. Faegon kits measure an astonishing 2 inches; while adults can be as large as an average birch tree. Seeing a Faegon kitten is an exceedingly rare sight, let alone without the watchful eye of their parent nearby. Their step is dainty, often described as a whisper among the grass. Their eyes, unlike other Serrirans, are pupiless in entirety. Often, their emotion is shown in their elongated snouts. They rely on nectar for sustenance, not requiring real food or anything of the sort. For the Faegon that do agree to integrate into modern society, they aid food scientists in the best tasting nectars for various teas, but those Faegon who strike out on this path are often looked down upon by those who reside in their ancient forest homes. The boundary between modernity and tradition is strict with these Ethereals, and neither side seems eager to budge.
•Gyngyoa Dragons•
(Gin-yee-oh-a . Dra-gons)
Gyngyoa Dragons are an odd bunch. Many are born within the sky, and live on asteroids that orbit Serrira. They do not need to breathe, and instead rely on spacefaring rocks as sustenance. They can harness aura closer than any medium, almost to the point of Etherealism, but they still have organs and methods in which to give live birth; something Ethereals definitively lack. Their life cycle often starts with a Gyngyoa crashing into Serrira, gathering aura and other materials in their mouth before rocketing off into space. Often times, other Gyngyoa Dragons can sniff this out, and they intercept the return to space for mating and courting. Once the deed is completed, the pair return to their asteroid and stay with one another for life. When the affected party births the kit, they raise them in space. Their paws and wings, laden with aura energy, act as miniature rockets allowing for space travel and even flight in the airless vacuum. Kits learn very quickly that they don't need to breathe, but during trips to the planes of Serrira, they choose to breathe to absorb more aura. Most trips that Gyngyoa dragons make to the surface is for the express purpose of aura 'refueling', but on occasion some Gyngyoa Dragons make a permanent residence on Serrira's Denizen planes, becoming an integral part of many space academies, programs, and progress. Some believe that Orayon uses them to explore reaches of the universe Serrirans haven't discovered, but many Gyngyoa Dragons detest this- stating that if they stray too far from aura they would become lost in space and die.
•Serriran Human•
(Sir-rear-an . Hue-man)
The species closest to us because they are us; humans were brought from their carbon-laden home to one completely devoid of it. The Orune teamed up, discovering that this planet rich in culture and life was going to be destroyed. Though they hardly worked together, they agreed on saving this- our species. Each Orune took 4 humans with them, departing Serrira temporarily and disguising themselves as one of us. They, as a trio, convinced a total of 12 humans to join them on Serrira. Though the process of convincing without blowing cover was hard enough, transferring these carbon creatures to a world without it was more a trouble. The Orunes focused their energy into swiftly converting every atom in their chosen humans' bodies to the Servifon element base that would keep them alive. Though it may seem outlandish that 12 humans suddenly vanishing would draw attention, in a large part the Orunes went unnoticed. The time period they chose (circa 2009, 20th Century) was fairly uncoordinated with technology and had just began to lose their ground with ancient human history recordings in lieu of digital recordings. People go missing right under our noses, and often they're never spoken of again until they turn up dead or found. For these 12, they considered themselves done with earth's cultures and faiths. They were looking for an escape, and the Orunes handed these deserving people a chance on a silver platter. The humans arrived to Serrira disoriented, but the Orunes guided them every step of the way. Around this time, Cobalt had begun to open the Serriran's eyes to life outside of their planet, but only had Starpups and Gyngyoa Dragons to back up his words. With the arrival of these humans, the theories had been proven undoubtedly true. Some Serrirans were hesitant to accept humans as one of their own, some even growing prejudiced and violent against them. But in time, Vitalux lay the hammer down, ensuring humans were treated equally. In their own words," Their world is gone. Their families are gone. Everything they knew has been destroyed. Do you really wish to deprive them of more peace? Or add to the turmoil with your words?". Not every Serriran stopped, but all governments officially decreed Humans a Serriran species in 2209. Though their anatomy has changed in regards to aura's pressured evolution, much of their external biology remains intact, they seamlessly blending into Serriran society within years of arrival and within generations of repopulation.
Conclusion
Whether you skimmed through all of these entries or read them in their entirety, I thoroughly hope you enjoyed this experience. Before I die, I want to make this into as big of an artistic project I can. I want to make something everyone, not just furries, can enjoy, and leave the world a better place than when I was born into it.
More coming soon, I hope you stay tuned.
