Say hello to Bái Lǎohǔ (literally White Tiger in Chinese), a new adoptable I recently picked up from the lovely Sumi-adopts An underwear version is on the way as well.~
Born in China back in the mid-late 80s, Bái's parents Yuàn bó (a male Bengal tiger) and Yǎ qín (a female white Bengal tiger) moved to the United States when he was only 2 years old in the hope of giving him his best chance at a good life. Yuàn bó became a very successful novelist with a series of fantasy novels based on Chinese mythology to his name, while Yǎ qín opened a well-received authentic Chinese restaurant in New York's Chinatown called The Dragon Orchid.
Bái himself grew up content, for the most part, really taking to his heritage and culture and sharing it when he could. Attending school, his classmates were fascinated by his tales of Chinese myth, his father's books having aided that due to several copies being available in the school library. Unfortunately, there were a few conservatively-raised children who gave him a hard time, but he was always able to defend himself thanks to Judo and Karate lessons from his parents.
When he came of age he made a healthy wage of his own in the IT field but found his fortune when he won the lottery. Using the money, he purchased himself a small plot of countryside, mostly a large island in an even larger lake in New York State, where he built himself a quaint authentic Chinese home and a dojo where he began to tutor former classmates, friends and work colleagues in Karate and Judo.
Not all was good fortune, however, as his parents were both killed in a hate crime just after he turned 21. Having been left to him in Yǎ qín's will, he took over management of The Dragon Orchid, as well as Yuàn bó's literary universe. He was even approached by Universal Studios with an offer for Yuàn bó's series to have a series of feature-length films made, which he agreed to on the condition he retained creative authority.
