For those who have followed me for years know that Bruce is based on Mr. Badger from "The Wind In The Willows" I've recently reread the book and decided to draw my group again, and develop their characters a bit more.
On the left is Ulysses S. Toad (or US, or "You Ass", but he's mostly referred to as Toady). The rich little kid, who really has the gift of the gab. He's gay like Bruce, but is a bit more open about it.
Next is Bruce. You all know him.
Next, and with a new design, is the water rat (Also known as the Rakali in Australia), Baron Von Ratt. He's the class clown and the best athlete of the group. He's in his water polo attire because he knows it turns Toady on and he loves to torment him.
Last in line is Nero Mole. The smart, quiet, sensible one one of the group.
All four of them have been friends since Kindergarten. Every year at the end of the school year, Toady has a sleepover (for his birthday, which is in June). I'm guessing the lot are all 19 or 20 years old in this picture, out of High School and in college already.
A lot of the pieces I have coming up will involve these four. Bruce is not "out" to these three at this point, and Rat's family might be heading back to Australia, and Mole has some big news to tell the group.
Pride month is a few days away. Maybe it's time for Bruce to open up to these three, and see how their friendship goes from here.
And thank you to those who actually read all of this. I know most people just click on a piece, don't see a penis, and click away. I'm starting to realize again I need to draw for myself because it is fun to do.

I think this piece just shows how powerful it is to think back and understand how reconnecting can be good for someone regardless if it’s left good or bad
It’s better to know what will be then what could be

Well now, isn’t this a merry band. And it sounds like they’ve kept so close. Hmm.
That book, “The Wind In The Willows”, what is it about?

Same as my picture, it has a mole, a rat, a toad and a badger as the 4 main characters. It mostly deals with the three trying to help toad get over his want for the automobile (book was published in 1908). It deals with friendship, mentorship and being grounded in a home\country life. It's pretty deep for a children's book.
Huh. There’s a train of thought I haven’t seen yet. I heard of the name a long time ago, but never learned that it was a book. Or that it was a kid’s book. I see. Thank you. 👍
The first person who should be the happiest with your art is yourself. I look forward to seeing what you got in store for these four!
Oh this piece is nice~
Nice little descriptions too.
You should always for yourself first and others will always flock to what you like. ^^

I agree with you. I have a lot of clean art I don't put up because I figure no one will look at it.
On the other side I have a lot of adult art I don't put up that people WOULD look at, but just don't.

Never read the book but I watched the 80s claymation show a lot as a child. Seeing it again, I'm almost certain that Ratty and mole were a couple. XD
Not every piece of art has to have a penis. Sometimes it's nicer that way.
Most of my art pieces are Bruce's college years. Hauke comes in a bit later when Bruce is older and crankier.
Always draw for yourself mate.
This is a fun piece and I like the group of friends - very envious since... well... didn't have 'em mostly consistently.
Looking forward to what's coming next.

It would be interesting to see your own take on The Wind in the Willows with these characters. :D Great picture too by the way.
A wonderful piece of work based on a great story! Stay safe and be happy. ;)
