Okay, I guess there's no more putting this off tonight. I am both excited to share what I've been working on as a side project, but I'm also kind of afraid to share too. Most of you will probably ignore it, but it's worth sharing anyway.
Here are the things for the TCG I mentioned last weekend on SOB. So far I have thought up roughly 90 unique cards. Most of which are listed here, but others I've written full details on in a notebook I got. Obviously I can't design images for all of them. Heck, I actually suck at drawing humans (even Zombie humans).
Here's a basic synopsis:
Grave Mistake can best be described as a LifeDecking Survival Horror TCG. The main themes of the game are pop culture horror movies, but it takes special focus on Zombies. While playing, you can think of yourself as the last surviving settlement on earth and your opponent as enemy zombies and raiders. You take turns trying to destroy each other. What fun!
It's not fancy or anything, but there's a whole lot more in this link here.
Now the full rules are in that link (roughly page 4 after all of the keywords... oof...) It's roughly only 5 pages long. Not too much of a read if you want to really know how it works. If you know how to play Yugioh though, well look further down here.
The four symbols you see up there are the I guess they could be called "Fractions". The creatures/units are called "Employees", because I find it funny to call them that. They are Zombie, Vampire, Survivor and Horror.
The two cards you see there are just samples of what Employee cards would look like complete with the Health, Attack and Sheild. (beside the image.) The golden square at the bottom are what's known as the Materials Limit. This basically means that's how many cards you can have in a creature's Soul. It functions differently for each Faction of Employee. For Zombies it's the lowest:highest number of cards you need:can use in order to play the Zombie from the Grave.
The others can be described in the rules within the link. Having different cards in an Employee's Soul can grant them stronger Attacks, more Health, maybe even some Defensives and of course new abilities.
I haven't had time to seriously design the Supply Cards. Which would be Tools, Curses, Traps/Obsticles and Apparitions.
The two images here are samples of Tool Cards.
If you already know how to play Yugioh then This will be easy.
It's just like Yugioh except for these changes.
First of all, the game is played with cards, not chess pieces. So "en passant" is not allowed... Okay, joking aside.
There are two card backs: Employee (Monsters) and the Supply Cards (everything else). They have two different backings, but are mixed into the same Deck. You don’t need to have any Supply cards in your deck, but you do need a majority of Employee Cards in it.
During the Draw Phase: You always draw until 1) You have at least 5 cards. 2) At least 1 of the cards in your hand is an Employee Card. 3) If you have 5+ cards in your hand and the top card of your deck is a Supply card you must draw it. The field uses both rows for Employees and Supply Cards. However, each Employee type has designated zones they can be played.
Monsters (Employees) are played Facedown Attack-mode to Living Space (backrow). There are only 4 types of Employees: Zombie, Survivor, Vampire and Horror. There is no Summoning Limit and you can attack on your first turn. There is no Defense mode, but you do calculate Defense points (if any) when Employees battle. Defense points are very rare. Zombies, Vampires and Horror Employees all go to Dust (Removed from Play) when damaged or Retired (Destroyed).
Zombie Employees can only be played from the Graveyard (Grave) and have a “Soul” (which is like XYZ Material). Go to Dust (Removed from Play) when damaged or Retired (Destroyed). They also cannot intercept attacks from non-“Slow” Employees. (All Zombies are “Slow” by default, unless they have the “Running” trait) Can’t be played in Living Space (back row).
Survivor Employees are basically like FlipEffect monsters such as Slate Warrior where they get stronger and gain other effects after flipping faceup. Will always go to the Grave when Damaged or Retired (Destroyed). Can’t be used as “Material” when Raising (Summoning) a Zombie.
Vampire Employees are like Tribute Monsters (play faceup), but the Tributed humans become a part of their Soul (XYZ Material). Vampires have an Acid Golem like Maintenance Cost (“Thirst”).
Horror Employees are currently a WIP, but are supposed to function similarly to both Ritual Monsters and that “Ancient Dragon” that Yugi’s Grandpa summoned in that duel against Joey.
The only Spells you can use are essentially Field Spells (Curse type of Supply cards) and Equip cards (Item type of Supply Cards). You can only equip one Item to each Employee.
There are Traps (type of Items) and Trap Monsters (Apparition type of Supply cards).
Instead of Lifepoints, the goal of the game is to Mill your Opponent's Deck until they Deck Out.
You can attack the opposing deck directly, but your attacks can be blocked/intercepted by the Employees that they control with a few other cabiots with that particular mechanic (aka “Slow”).
There is one more thing that you need to know. The “Soul” acts like lifepoints to individual Employees. Cards in the Soul (Material) include everything in the stack, but cards below the top one will be discarded first. Each card alone has at least one hit point (Heart).

I'll have to take a look at this when I'm a little more sober (just a nightly cocktail). I'm not major card guy (never even followed the rules of Yu-Gi-Oh), but I like the vibe here. Kind of old-timey video games and may kind of a FNAF/Chuck E. Cheese deal with Goe the Duck.
Well, who am I to tell a fox not to enjoy his chicken dinner?
I probably could have just posted Goe by himself. Honestly, I am trying to avoid comparisons to FNAF, but mascots in general will have that effect. He is more so based on both concept of living costume and the concept of someone who happened to be wearing the costume when the apocalypse occurred. Found it was rather effective at tricking Zombies.
I legit designed Goe with the idea that he'd be the TCG's version of "Pikachu". So a mascot who also happens to be a mascot in cannon... He's even got a couple of exclusive "Curse" cards and a (given, rather generic) theme song/cheer.
Of course, it's only after I posted that I notice a few errors. Meh, only I'll notice, but that's always annoying.

Never was a FNAF fan myself, or even played it.
Though also brings to mind the idea of turning into something inorganic (if the agent is biological) for immunity.

Well, in cannon of the game's lore, Survivor cards are people who are actually immune to the zombie virus. This is why you can't use them as material for Raising a Zombie, but you can use them as material to "Promote" a Vampire. (Outside of the Lore, it's to help balance the game a bit.)
Goe, just happens to be a bit more "special" than the others, is all. Although I have considered making him a Horror type, but I like him snuggly placed in the Survivor faction. I mean look at dat face. Does that look like the face of madness to you?
