-Researcher Mac Troscy-

Uhm...Is this on? ah I see. Okay.
-rusteliing of paper can be heard- This is Researcher Mac Troscy speaking. My colleague, Louise Skimmer, has asked me to fill in for her as she and quite a
few of the team have fallen Ill. Not sure if its a mystery illness or if they simply stayed up too late again but...lets just hope they will make a swift recovery.
I am -loud radio feedback- I am not well versed nor overly keen on keeping these logs, but a promise is a promise. -muttering in the background, possibly from Marie-
Our deep sea research is progressing well enough, but considering that we will leave in a few days to stay on schedule, the team and me are getting a tad bit
uneasy in our hopes to spot a leviathan. We are not at the lowest point the drone can reach yet though, so there is still hope.
We managed to catch a Gulper Dragon on camera though, which was quite remarkable. Tho the name Dragon is terribly misleading and archaic. These creatures
stem from a long, long line of marine reptiles that have nothing to do with Dragons, and don´t even possess land breathing lungs anymore.
They are the first creature on our expedition that can not leave their pressure zone in the ocean, even for a little bit. They where believed to be extinct for quite some time before a dead inividual was washed ashore back in -date redacted- which caused quite the stir in the marine biologist scene and a big push for deep sea exploration.
They are graceful, semi slow swimmers, though their second pair of flippers can give them a small speedboost if need be. They grow fairly large (longest recorded animal was 50 feet long) and allthough slim, can balloon their mouth to many times its size. its stomach is also lined with flexible skin, which leads to them eating prey almost half their size in one sitting. after such a meal they can go months and potential over a year without eating again. They are known to be fairly cannibalistic. They could potentially become dangerous enough if they would survive the pressure difference in the ocean to get even close to shores, but luckily that wont happen any time soon.
that...thats it I think.
