Everyone has to eat, some more than the others, werewolves especially, the built-in hunger for human flesh can be tricky to deal with, but he was determined to overcome it.
Luckily simply eating enough was a good way to silence that hunger, and what better target for a hearty meal than a pack of bears, one of the biggest and strongest animals in the forest, still no match for this werewolf.
He hunted down a nice group, a whole family with grown offsprings, but don't worry, it's not his intention to spread pain and misery.
Using his paralysis claws and teeth, he disabled their ability to feel the pain first, ambushing the first two from the high trees, then chasing down the rest, leaving them motionless with a few slashes of his claws, then beginning to siphon their vital energies and trapping the souls within himself, for now.
There were few things he enjoyed more than feeling the surge of strength and power as he drained all might from another strong beast, his already impressive musculature started swelling and growing, making him look more ripped than he actually was, there was no need to physically devour each one, he could just absorb everything good from their bodies as minds were already sleeping, they felt nothing, the werewolf one on the other hand had a time of his life, feeling all the power of those bears flowing into his mighty body.
Not a single ounce of useful vitality would be wasted, he siphoned it all until nothing but dust remained.
The bear you see here decided to attack, most likely out of panic, it was the biggest of the group and likely the most aggressive, landing a bite on the werewolf as he had his back turned and was focused on siphoning the other.
This werewolf may not be cruel, but when enraged by the pain he couldn't help but get back at this bear by instantly lifting it by the throat and choking for a moment, showing that with his strength, the bear might as well be plushy, it would take similar effort.
The werewolf couldn't deny that it felt satisfying to use his strength and subdue a massive beast like that, but seeing the suffering, his humanity quickly returned and began paralyzing the bear while siphoning its vital energy, but it didn't feel any of it, the mind was alright paralyzed and asleep, as its body quickly started glowing in green, a streak of pure life force started flowing from it into the werewolf's grasp, and once he took enough to kill the bear, its soul was cleaved right off, falling into the glowing claws and trapped within, as he kept draining, so much there was just skin and bone left, more and more until there was just a skeleton, and even from bones, he harvested their hardness, leaving just worthless dust.
Then the time came for the souls, after fully absorbing the bodies of every one of the bears, he had their souls in his grasp, trapped, helpless, he could devour them too, oh what great strength would come from this, a power he could never get from just feeding on bodies, he took a moment to distance himself from the feelings, and just, look at the greed that demanded eating those souls, not following it, not giving in to it, not resisting it, just observing, experiencing, and after some time, it began to fade, he watched it all happen while the blue spheres that were the souls started adapting to their new form, and taking on their old shape, and one of the first things they saw was smile, a sincere smile of gratitude, a whole family of bears held within the glowing claws suddenly felt a surge of energy, they felt powerful, healthy and strong just like in the best times during their life, and with the energy came information, a thank you message from the werewolf for letting him use their bodies to sate the cursed hunger and empower the physique, as well as a promise of safe passage to the afterlife, combined with a little gift of some of the vital energy their bodies held, for a soul without a body, even small amounts of it were greatly empowering and helpful.
The werewolf helped the bear family understand his need to consume, as a predator, he had to feed, and even though they may not have liked to be the victims, forgiveness or at least understanding was granted, as well as gratitude for not devouring their souls, and providing safe passage to another life.
With this, he once again took a moment to focus on the cursed greed that still demanded consuming those souls, and just as it started to ramp up again, he let go, releasing the whole bear family safely into the beyond, this was a huge hit against that greed, although not easy, it was one of the most effective ways to combat the curse, and maintain his true mind.
This, despite being a clear act against "himself", it felt good, relieving, satisfying, he knew that this greed came from the curse, it wasn't actually his, he knew that this is what he would do if he was fully human, yet another step towards forging that curse into a blessing, like another hit of a hammer against the red-hot metal, that gradually formed from a crude shape into a marvelous tool.
He watched the souls vanish as they moved into the afterlife, knowing full well that this selfless act of letting them go is the exact opposite of what the demons who "gifted" him with the ability to siphon souls wanted, they wanted to turn him into a being like them so he could be manipulated, a servant controlled by the thirst of power, but he didn't have any of it, he didn't ask for this ability, he never should be able to taste souls, but since they won't take their gift back, he'll use it best he can for the better, siphoning bodies is one thing, everyone has to eat, but souls are sacred, be it animal or human, nobody should be able to consume them, they all have a right to return to the afterlife and move on.
This right here is the moment the werewolf just started siphoning vital energies from the bear, already pumped up from absorbing the others, it is why he looks so ripped, he's usually more fluffy, you can see it by that beautiful tail, he has more fur, but when the power grows, even it can't obscure the glorious musculature x)

This is a nice one I loved the story what was wrote here keep up the good work
Wow, super happy to hear this! :D
And yes, there is more coming x)

It's as if that wolf is Shang Sung himself, but not greedy enough to absorb their souls.
I never heard of Shang Sung actually, but ye, this werewof has high enough morale not to completely end someone's existence just for his own profit, no matter how high.
Well, it's beautiful to see that trait of his, although he is a little strong about how to kill his victims...
He's very strong in general, tho I'm not sure what you mean actually...
That the way in which he consumes his victims is very ugly
But well, everyone has their own way of eating, what saves him is that he doesn't eat souls and that he tries to calm the pain of his victims, but I doubt very much that they don't hate him

Well, I would not say it's uglier than just devouring them.
He specifically puts the mind to sleep and disables all feeling before staring to siphon, so from the victim's perspective they just fall asleep, and wake up as a soul within his grasp or already in the afterlife.
He then often explains himself and gifts the soul with a some of the energy, and grants a safe passage to the afterlife.
Sometimes he's also able to ensure that the soul gets a better life after incarnating again, so I'd say, out of all the options, death by him is one of the best ones.
Certainly preferable over just being torn to shreds or bitten to death xP

oh I understand, the description didn't read that part well, but now that I know, I don't see it as bad, a death without pain or suffering, I guess it's the first time I see such a "gentle" vore
It's hardly even vore, the victim's body withers away and turns into pure vital energy he absorbs, he doesn't put anything into his jaws outside of the first bite that starts the process, but even that he sometimes does with claws instead.
I'm not justifying it, I mean it's noble that it doesn't eat souls and that it absorbs them without pain, I just hope it never attacks a child, that would be cruel and unforgiving
That's why he self-isolated himself in the wilderness for centuries, to avoid contact with people and minimize the chances of him harming anyone when losing control, and so far it mostly worked out.
Hehehe well I must admit that I have seen your publications and I confirm that he is someone controlled and that he is not someone dangerous, he is a beauty, it makes me want to hug him 🤎
Aw, thank you x)
He certainly wasn't always like this, at the beginning there was a lot of struggle and he certainly wasn't safe to be around, but that's in the past, even though he may not realize it yet.
He certainly is safe enough to hug now, unless it's a full moon, then you might wake up with a huge headache with no memory of what happened xP
