StormBelle's Ringing
"I hate snow."
Stormwave said this a million times as they hiked through the powdery drifts. Her paw pulled back and kicked, sending a puff of fluffy white into the air. Her eyes watched as a wind kicked up out of nowhere and carried the crystals away. It wasn't clear whether her powers dragged the fine dusting away or nature, but she found it pretty nonetheless. It was really the only redeeming quality of this slippery-cold-wet-dry stuff. Why would anyone enjoy spending time in the mountains? Even if this was only her second time in a winter wonderland like this, she was starting to realize this wasn't her favorite thing.
"You keep saying that. Like, a lot. I think it's all you said today, fox."
Her friend was trudging along yet seemed completely unaffected by the cold. The white furred wonder known as DuraBelle was wearing her newest costume redesign, a white and blue dress that barely covered her hips with the tall stockings that still left her toes open. A cluster of flakes ran against her fur and melted immediately, as if burned away by the fires of whatever the hell drove the bun to her insane clothing choices. Her exasperated tone was ignored by her companion as the fox looked over her exposed fleshy parts.
"Okay. Why aren't you cold? There's no way your Captain Pantyshot dress is warm in this weather. You're dumb." Stormwave eventually commented, her voice completely flat. Annoyed.
"Well, there's a logical reason for that." The rabbit said with a huff, suddenly turning about as they reached one of the many mountain's valleys. "And that's because-"
ROARRRRRR
There came a clattering of crocks as a half dozen monstrous beasts lunged from every angle. Their misshapen forms clutched at the rocks with an unnatural strength, shearing stone and smashing whatever plants had survived the alpine harshness. Growls split the air as they glared at the encroaching forms of the two heroes, their eyes trained with the precision of natural hunters. A few trees were crushed and split, falling with a massive noise and an explosion of snow. The sudden wind brought this new cloud down to wrap about the heroes, vanishing in a manner that had to look freaking awesome if you were there.
"Man, and Stellara gets to miss this." the fox said, finally getting just a little excited. The air about her crackled and feeler bolts ran towards the shockingly low clouds. had they come so high?
"Well, she was busy." The bun rolled one of her shoulders as she stepped to the side of her heroic friend. One foot lifted up and smashed into the ground, cracking the stone before sending small spears of basalt skyward. "Remember? She told us to come and take care of these random monsters. She's researching them, we're fighting. Usual stuff."
"That is precisely what is happening, Miss Exposition." Stormy said with a grin, holding up one hand.
Lightning split the air and rushed towards her palm. The errant sparks leftover ran down her forearm and then crossed to her right hand. There came a heavy tingling in her fingers when the dancing charges rushed out and around, plasma forming and vanishing in the microseconds between sparks. Stormwave also felt a bit of relief as the warmth rushed through her fingers since even the gloves were just way too thin to keep the high altitude chill out. Her little spike of loud crackling was perfect for ignoring the cold that she was learning to really hate.
But was it worse than summer heat?
"Wait, since when can you hold lightning? That's... kinda sweet, honestly." DuraBelle asked, her hand suddenly going up to smash the muzzle of their first aberrant attacker. The sound of magically altered bone filled the air, barely audible over the lightning.
"Since, like, ten seconds ago. Get with the times." the fox said with a laugh, then getting more focused.
"Awesome mountaintop fight?" The fox asked.
"Awesome mountaintop fight." The bunny agreed.
And it was fucking sick.
hey! Had to post this and a few other pics today. But this is one of my BEST Stormy pics ever, with a great bun friend! Probably pic of the year. At least one of two. It's absolutely amazing and this is one of my favorite artists.
But here we have me! as Stormwave!
And DuraBelle, my fur-friend-sister-whatever we are! invincibunny who is here and owns the panty-flashing protector.
Art is by the utterly astounding Yumi Baker https://www.deviantart.com/yumibaker who is here. i have a couple pics of them to show but their stuff is absolutely insane.
See you in a bit with more art! And I have a few big stories coming. I know, I'm behind, but they're MASSIVE!

This is indeed the best, most awesome mountaintop fighting ever! Also, a real cool new trick that Stormwave can do, in terms of holding lightning! (no worries on being behind, for when they come out, it'll be amazing!)
