Stretch Those Wrists!
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome isn't fun and god if I had known drawing for years without taking breaks or stretching every time would give me it I would have DEFINITELY done the title a lot more.
On the flipside, I've made peace with having it and can definitely find some humor in the situation. Plus it taught me to set up my chair, keyboard + mouse and tablet to be better for my wrists.
I'm serious though, I'd recommend at least getting up now and then and learning if your chair-keyboard setup is fucking up your wrist like mine was. Stretch before you draw some and make sure you aren't burning your wrist to the ground drawing nonstop, all while gripping your pen too hard for too long. Break days are okay to take, it's fine if you need to stop even for a little bit to let your wrist recover, and don't feel bad if you can't draw as much as you'd love to. It's a lot better than being forced to stop for a month or two because it twinged.
Frankly it sucks to have and if I can convince even one person to have better habits than I did before it struck me then I consider that a success.
Pulled from my Twitter, where I upload my art as it's finished.
