More than year ago, familiar sculptor visited my city and gave several people from our sculpture chat castings of his figures, I got Bormin (from game Mutant: Year Zero). And only now my hands have reached the point of working on it
This is my first attempt to do something for myself. Maybe someday I will find time to create sculpture of my sona (I only have my rough drawing (I draw very badly x)) and sketch drawing of head from my wife, but she forbids me to post it ( ╯°□°)╯┻┻) or some other figurine, but so far I don't have time and spiritual strength for this x)
So I decided to do it easier and paint someone else's sculpture. I have several miniatures that I took as a gift to my wife, but so far it's a little scary for me to start painting very small figures, and my wife has very delicate tastes, I doubt that she will like my work (so most likely she will paint them herself, hehe)
This figure is more familiar to me in size, so it's easier to work. The main idea was to give painting style from Borderlands. I didn't resort to any complicated techniques, so tried to paint simply, by instinct. In the beginning, I applied basic dark color, and then lightened it to pure white with three or four shades. Most difficult task was to apply black stripes to imitate comic style. I used to make Zero sculpture from the same game, but I had clear reference. Here I had to think myself where to put stripes, hatching and points
I don't know when I will continue working on rest of figure. I still haven't decided on three main colors: either to paint clothes and weapons in white + black + honey yellow, or in gray-blue + yellow + white
