Letters to Super C: #14
To the mighty Cat of Steel, SuperCat
Dear Sir:
I had previously written to your number one (Cripto) asking how he dealt with people who come off as carbon copies of his late grandmother, Chloe Clements, because I live in Pearland, Texas. In fact, I'm Wrangler Wolf's next-door neighbor. I felt it was necessary to tell you that this lady doesn't just fit the meme; her name was actually Karen. Why she had to fuss at you for what the wolf was doing was beyond my comprehension. I fear people will throw a fiesta instead of a funeral, because just last night, she died of a cerebral hemorrhage after having headcahes for days; she was only 57 years old.
It is a tragic ending to a sad life, but it didn't surprise me, because all the bad luck in town found her. Her husband divorced her and won custody of her son, and she was kicked out of the HOA board she had served on. Her dying words were, "Superheroes are unconstitutional!" You and I know that's not true. Yet when she died, everybody in the neighborhood except myself and the wolf started cheering. (She'll be cremated without a funeral service; her family wanted nothing to do with her.) But we weren't cheering; we were saddened by this. Karma got her in the end.
Would such a behavior get your recruits in trouble?
Sincerely,
Koby G. Johnson, age 33 (human being)
Pearland, Texas, USA
Super C's reply:
Dear Koby:
I can tell you that I do not want to see my recruits celebrating the death of somebody because the G-52 Organization believes in letting criminals live to see the consequences of their actions. I don't think I've ever had a recruit do that, but it is something I've said would earn a demerit. Celebrating somebody's death comes off as judgmental to me.
I get it, though; on the one hand, good riddance. On the other hand, she should have had a chance to reform in my opinion. She never got that chance.
I therefore wish to extend my sympathy to anybody who is grieving over this. I also thank you for the update; as a G-52, I find it important we keep in touch with the ones we are sworn to protect.
Yours truly,
Simon Corrineson, a.k.a. SuperCat, the Cat of Steel
Commander-in-Chief of the G-52 Organization

Super C's fourteenth letter, and a rather tragic one.

Wrangler Wolf: I was in Houston celebrating the Astros' win in the World Series when this happened. I wasn't aware of any of this happening until I returned home. But I'm not surprised them folks doing this but I wasn't thrilled about this. I didn't say anything about this since I rather not be part of this.
Kang-Dae: Karma is cruel these days. We just had a crowd crush in Seoul that killed at least a platoon of GSAF terrorists but their body count keeps going up. The body count has exceeded 130 and we don't know how the GSAF managed to sneak into Seoul on Halloween.
Moon Mage: Halloween isn't normally celebrated in Korea, but at the same time, Koreans have the right to celebrate that holiday. But I'm glad Kyu kept his cool on this otherwise he would've gotten a demerit.
Chuong: If you have so many people crowded into tight spaces that they start crushing the GSAF's body armor, then that's way too many people. Karma is quite cruel these days, from Karen's death to the Halloween crowd crush in Seoul. Two crowd crushes this year is way too much!

Super C: *to Wrangler Wolf* I used to have doubts about whether or not karma really existed. It does, and the crowd crushes, plus Karen's death, prove it exists. You made the right move by avoiding it.
Crush: How many celebrated when your grandma died?
Cripto: That's the weirdest part of the irony; nobody was happy. They said they were glad to be rid of her, but they didn't see it as a reason to party. Wrangler's neighbors saw Karen's death as a reason to party (or so was the impression they left on me).
