they last...you just need to time it perfectly...otherwise they wouldn't stay on the stick during camping... gotta think fire energy versus microwave energy
I gotta figure out that magical time then. It'd be fun to have some giant marshmallows once in a while.
it exists between 10-20 seconds, sometimes 15, it's because of the aeration of the mallow
When I worked at a Secret Navy Research Base, one of the engineers had some shrunken, crispy Styrofoam cups on his desk. When I asked about them, he said they took them out on sea-trials to make gifts. He also said he'd seen marshmallows that had been exposed to the crazy pressure. Apparently they shrank up into aspirin-size.
I also want to put marshmallows in a vacuum chamber. I got some jars and an Air Conditioning grade vacuum pump... hmm
Them shrinking to asprin size pretty much tells you how little there is in a marshmallow.

"Is it a good idea to microwave this?"
Anybody else remember that crazy YouTube show?

"Because nobody likes roasted nuts."
Just don't let her put a raw egg in the microwave...or a wad of steel wool...or a lightbulb...or a battery...or a lava lamp...or fireworks...or an airbag...basically anything they put in microwaves on that show. Spoiler: it was NEVER a good idea. I'm honestly surprised none of them got seriously injured doing that. :P

I was around long enough to catch onto that show! XD Didn't they attempt to microwave a battery at some point?
Several dozen times, and every kind imaginable. Alkaline batteries, rechargeable, AAs, AAA, Cs, Ds, 9Vs, Lithium, watch batteries...most of the time they exploded and blew holes in the microwave doors sending white hot burning shrapnel everywhere. It's amazing none of those guys had to be rushed to the ER at any point filming that show.
Their favourite was probably lightbulbs though, especially fluorescent and neon because the microwaves would generate enough current inside the bulb to make if glow as if it were plugged in, which fun fact was one of the ways microwaves (the part of the electromagnetic spectrum in the centimeter to milometer range) were accidentally discovered back in the day. Some old radio towers pumped out so much high frequency radio that florescent bulbs would glow in your hand and chocolate bars would melt if you left them on certain areas of the floor, which lead to the invention of the microwave oven.

I did not know that was how the microwave was invented. You learn something new every day. xD
I remember enjoying watching videos of marshmallows in microwaves when I was younger. LOL!
I know this feeling. The intense pain of realizing that the marshmallow won't expand forever... ;(
I am so sorry for her. 🤗
Despite all this it has become a very sweet work 💕
