Would not recommend being on the business end of that.
We’re all aware that Mike is lacking in physical fitness; we’ve seen his rotund shape time and time again. But, one thing few know is that he has incredible aim with ranged attacks. That is to say, odds are that Mike’s flamethrower hits whoever he’s aiming at. Let’s hope they have a type advantage. As for this opponent? Well, let me explain. See, before Mike’s trip to the water park, he’d won his second gym challenge. “Second” denotes the existence of a first, and as far as firsts go, Mike left a damn fine impression for being a rookie.
The team had traveled up from Lilycove to Fortree for an afternoon or two, taking on Gym Leader Winona’s challenge for a shot at their very first badge. When it came down to the final member of Winona’s team, the altaria that was sent out was exactly as graceful as one would expect. Mike’s opponent became smug, mistaking his grounded status and lack of badges for inadequacy. In a gust, Mike was juggled into the air as the bird thought to show him how terribly out of his element he was in a gym setting. In the time before their diving assault, the typhlosion processed a natural calculation, orienting himself and launching a stream of superheated, flammable oil. Once that expanded in the air, there was no avoiding it.
Needless to say, it was the crowning moment of Mike’s time in the limelight, and a moment that lives in his trainer’s mind as one of the coolest things Mike has ever done. Seen here is a stadium camera’s view of the moment. The sheer amount of light coming off of the attack shifted the camera’s exposure and rendered the rest of the stadium pitch black, but Mike and his team all agree it’s way cooler that way.
Or… hotter that way… because fire…

Amazingly done and great story to partner the image with!! Mike is not to be underestimated!
Even if estimated appropriately, I don't think they saw that coming.
