🦊 Squeezy the Red Fox here! 🦊
Been a while! MFF always gives me that spark of creativity. So, I dusted off a project that I started late 2021 and finished it up. Behold!
I've been a fan of the Angry Video Game Nerd for a while and have always found the theme song quite catchy. So, I decided to do my personal take on the AVGN theme in the best way possible: Super Nintendo style videogame music!
It's in the style of my favorite SNES game, Mega Man X. I made use of the digitized guitar and the punchy slap bass the MMX is known for, hoping to capture the mood and charisma of the Nerd. It's full of SNES digital goodness with driving drums, lead and rhythm guitar, and even a guitar solo! It might just take you back to the past... But, while you're there, don't play shitty games that suck ass.
Thanks for listening!

I saw this wondering what it was
And you bringing up angry video game nerd just as amazing
I thought I was the only one here that knew him

I first found his Youtube content back in 2015 via a friend suggestion. Granted, AVGN was on Youtube long before that and definitely an icon in early content creation. But I binged all of his videos up to that point.
Back in the past, the worst part was buying a game based on ads that really talked it up, only to find out the game is shitty. Luckily that was back in the day when you could return an opened game to the store for a refund, but it was harder to do when it was mail ordered out of a catalog. Anyway, awesome chiptune!
Hahaha. I remember doing that a bunch with rented games. Luckily, a Blockbuster or Hollywood Video wasn't far from our house growing up. We always seemed pretty picky with our games, so most of what we had growing up were the better and more popular ones (Zeldas, Mega Mans, Metroids, etc.). But thanks for listening! This one turned out better than I was hoping for since I picked it up after months and months of it just sitting around.
I buy overpriced retro games because AVGN reviews them and I want to see how shitty they really are! <3
Also thanks to Metalmaster32 for the copy of Dark Castle for Sega Genesis btw! lol
