* BR-954: A gas operated bull-pup DMR chambered in 8x45mm, with a three stage Gauss accelerator module (optional) for use with tungsten cored armor piercing ammo.
* Kriegsmesser: Nix's sword is on the shorter end of being classified as a Kriegsmesser (i.e. "war knife"). None the less, it's a go-to weapon aboard a ship or station when ricocheting bullets and laser scatter are just as dangerous as the enemy.
* [unnamed revolver]: Based loosely on Vash's Angel Arms .45 Long Colt from Trigun with it's break open design and 6 o'clock battery position. Designed to operate in vacuum or atmosphere.
Concept art for my space western, "Kido". My philosophy on guns in space is that wild west guns (revolvers, lever action, bolt action) can cycle more reliably then typical gas operated guns in a rarefied atmosphere without needing any adjustment. Also swords could make a come back, since on a space ship you wouldn't want lasers reflecting back into your face or bullets bouncing around and punching holes in the bulk heads, and you only really need one good cut in a space suit to give an assailant a bad day. Laser guns exist in this setting, but reflection/refraction is just as much of a concern as the ricochet of a bullet.
