This phush took 2 months and he looks like something out of FNAF, but he is done! Our office secretary is retiring at the end of the years and she is a huge Cardinal's fan. Since I had a pattern for an anthropomorphic bird, I decided to make her a plush of their mascot.
Fredbird is is about 14 in tall and is made of Minky, felt (eyes) and knit fabric (hat, shirt). All patterns used were created by Choly Knight. Aside from the straight stitches on his jersey, he is completely hand-sewn. He is my first anthropomorphic bird plush. His body wasn't too difficult, but here were several "firsts" for me. I've never created a plush with an open mouth, or actual clothing. His shoes also were unlike anything I have made and there was initially no pattern for them. Choly Knight was gracious enough to pattern out his shoes for me.
He was an interesting challenge and I hope to use the same pattern when I make a plush of Captain Celano from The My Little Pony Movie.

Not sure if the "holey crap is good or bad, but Hi!
Always good. Especially here in the 'buckle of the bible belt'. LMAO! Been to several redbird games, always to watch the Naturals as they're the Royals affiliate... because I once worked for the K.C.Royals. I still root for both teams though. I only know of 2 or 3 other 'furs' down here. It use to be 4 but my close best 'furry' friend passed away several years back so I only know a few now and have yet to meet any of them... yet.
Well, thank you! Only been to a couple games myself. I wa sin a box each time, so it was pretty fun.
Sorry about your friend. Hop you find more furs in your area.

We had a convention or two in the area over the years but... mostly gamers (heck, I'm one too). The furry crowd generally stays hidden because most around here don't understand it... or worse. We talk but suiting up and going public is a big risk. Know of at least two people that lost their jobs (although they were given a bogus 'different reason' so they couldn't claim discrimination). I do love to go to conventions not in the area... New Orleans being my favorite.
There is a fur group near St. Louis and there were never issues when I attended their meets. I find it crazy that a person would be fired for being a furry. They wouldn't be able to claim discrimination. Hobbies aren't protected classes.
Well, KC and StL are a bit more open and open minded than down here. But, yeah... we get the occasional Con from time to time. Mostly gamers... a few Scifi costumers... but very few furries, if any at all. I once rode my motorcycle in my fursuit when I went down to a Con in Louisiana (my favorite place to go). Got pulled over before I could cross the Arkansas border. LOL. No ticket... just a real curious policeman.
Ah! I'm in central IL, so there is nothing. To go to ANY con, St. Louis, Chicago, and Indianapolis are the closest. My mom saw a furry walking around the neighborhood during Halloween, but I haven't seen any others here. Riding a motorcycle in-suit sounds terrifying. O_O
