Ralia Orcs
“The time of the Beastfolk dominion over these lands is ending, the time of orcish domination is once again at hand.” -Ralia Warchief on the War for Wurxland
“The roach men are everywhere. Their merchants come to our cities, traders buy prisoners to bring back to their tables in Roasam, their warriors haunt our streets, and even their liches teach our gifted. I see them when I am inside our halls, outside on the road, and even when I am eating my damnable soup do I see them somehow!” -Orcish Warlord on Roasarch influence in Olg-Ralia
Olg-Ralia was one of the few orcish realms to survive, though not before brutally falling. Ralia used to be much larger than it is, being torn apart by the Great Horde and most of the orcs fleeing into the hills which separated the northern forests from the vast marshlands of Roasam. The orcs resisted every incursion from both Beastfolk and the Roasarch in their hillforts, surviving an onslaught of tragedy through sheer will. Olg-Ralia remained an obscure and small nation up until the fall of the Great Horde, and the disastrous 1st Beastfolk-Rosari War which saw Cusnova arise as a powerful march and realm.
Olg-Ralia grew in influence not through its own means, but through the machinations of the Roach King, Urien Roakar. Seeing an opportunity to expand his defensive borders, the Roasarch went from monstrous raiders to strange friends, peacefully aligning with Olg-Ralia’s warchief. Through their aid, Olg-Ralia survived countless incursions and grew closer to its southern neighbor. Roasarch became more commonplace as mercenaries, merchants, and even priests flooded into the nation and made the orcs powerful friends. Although they would never claim to be a puppet of the Roach King, agents of the Urien’s court openly advise the warchief on political and military matters.
Olg-Ralia participated in the successful defense of the Beastfolk realms during the 2nd war with the Rosari, with Ralian Orcs and Roasarch mercenaries holding the line long enough for the combined force to enter the fray. Yet, trust in the Beastfolk states was crushed after the war, when the combined march on the border of Cusnova was consumed into Wurxland in a power grab. In retaliation, to prove themselves as a returning power, Ralia invaded and brutally crushed the Wurxland armies, taking a large chunk of their kingdom. Olg-Ralia has ever since been a threat, a favored replacement for the northern Beastfolk states as a guardian against further Rosari invasions by the Roasarch, which the Ralian Orcs take great pride in.
