"Shackled" (Artwork + Poetry)
Shackled
A prisoner of her own body,
Choice chosen by anyone other than her own.
She has cried out enough,
Her weary bones continue to ache as she trudges.
Possessing only bound shackles,
It doesn’t matter for her one true love is gone.
For she is not only a prisoner,
But a victim of a victimized calf - her child.
Born into a system of oppression,
She prays for the sunshine that never comes.
Hope.
Art above and poetry written by me for my internship with FFAC's Poetry and Activism hour, inspired by Viva Charity's current The True Costa Dairy campaign - please go support! Mixed Media Paper, Water Soluble Oil Pastels, and a paintbrush.
Did you know, cows in the dairy industry wear shackles to prevent her from doing the splits, as permanent nerve damage through problematic calving affects a mother's ability to control her back legs? This is so the farmer can continue the process of exploitation to maximize profits. 💔 This is your call to take action against this horrific cruelty - watch "Dairy is Scary" and sign up at DairyFreeChallenge.com!
My commissions are always OPEN with prices under my profile tab, notes are open for free quotes. By the way, my mailed coms include extra goodies from my business partners (related to animals!) Don't forget to check out my Patreon as well for EXCLUSIVE monthly perks, along with the YCHs and other adoptables available for sale in my gallery! Every shiny donation gets a sketch as well, we really could use the help (this is my only income)
Favorites, watches, and comments below are welcomed - thanks so much for viewing my work! Be sure to stay tuned for future projects~! ^.=.^

Is there anything that I can do to help? I don't have any money or things to give, and my voice ain't exactly that loud online (or offline, in that matter).
Nice art, BTW

Again, I apologize for not seeing this sooner, I genuinely missed this. D: Yes, there is definitely ways you can help - I recommend starting with the free Dairy Free Challenge to help animals suffering in the dairy industry, definitely feel free to send me a note as well! Thank you for your compassion, friend. I appreciate the kind words, too. ^.=.^
