This is my fashion-frame of Excalibur! I’ve pretty much kept it from the begin on when I started the game. Here's my choice of fashion:
Excalibur Apex Skin + Helmet
Udyat Syndana
Protovyre Chest Armor
Nidina Shoulder Plate
Embolist Shoulder Growths
Embolist Leg Growths
Embolist Leg Growths
(Protovyre Ephemera)
I don't need to explain why I can't make an Ephemera.
Anyhow, this was my very first figurine that I ever finished! Could I do better? Yeah, most likely. But a lot had to do with simply inexperience I think. And, a pair of not so functional eyes or a vision of a horse- the proportions are pretty off, which I wished I would've noticed sooner. At the point where I did notice it, I was already too far and simply didn't want to redo or destroy anything anymore, since I used my expensive clay for this (and it dried way too fast for me to fix it).
In the end, I worked with different kinds of clay. I also added the Orb Vallis landscape later, after I already painted Excalibur. Which of course was very smart, because this caused that during crafting the landscape, new clay stuck on the already painted Excalibur. Later on when I got to paint the landscape I of course also smeared that paint onto him. In the end I didn't feel like correcting anything about it in general oop. I just sorta gave up on trying very hard and made it fast instead. The whole process took me roughly 4 days and a lot of idle time in Warframe (thank goodness the scenes exist, which made me recreate the landscape much easier!).
I really enjoyed painting the landscape the most tho, that part was the most fun. I learned a lot there. Granted I think I learned a lot in general. Lesson learned: Good things take time. If you want a lot of fine detail, you should take the time to actually do them. Not everything can be edited later with tools. But for a quick practice? Ill take it. Ill take what I learned and I shall apply it to my next project, which I will be making with different clay this time (I am not sure what it will be though).
My Process:
-Copperwire skeleton, with aluminium foil wrapped around to serve as base and reduce waste of clay
-Clay used for Frame: Hearty Super Lightweight Modelling Clay (japanese imported)
-Dremel tool used to sand down and attempt to carve a few more details (did not work that well with this material)
-Acrylic paint and sharpie in the end for thinner details and lines
-Clay used for Landscape: Rayher Ultra-Light modelling compound (local shop in germany)
-Acrylic paint again.
