I got bullied to the point where I had to drop out of high school, yes, but because of my own choices. This kid doesn't know just what he's gotten himself into! He'll have *no* choice when the shit hits the fan!

What do you mean why not? That kid is going to be scarred from that for a long time to come. That's if the other kids don't actually keep making him re-live it.
Two, his face is red and he's covering it because he has tears coming out. That is what most people call embarrassment. He probably didn't want the "rare" picture taken because you're in a lion get-up in public. Again, embarrassing.
