Wildlife Anomaly Log No.17
Cycle 1633.134
A Distant Echo - Iterator 74
[Forgive me if this seems disorganized, whoever is reading this. I’m not used to recording logs but Fuzes wants me to document everything]
As mentioned in prior experiment logs, I keep a close eye on the wildlife within my shared enclosure. While I advocate for the survival and support the creatures within, I heavily dislike allowing entry to my Can. While sure I could simply seal the gates, there are procedures for such, though. I would rather keep them accessible.. Keep things fair, right? Fair though doesn't prevent me from simply making entry just a fair bit more difficult.
Defense packs of Orange and Cyan type lizards are my preferred method, can be worked around, but difficult in numbers. Of course, I am always ensuring my numbers are high and that my population counts of defenses are stable. As such I'm always purposing new organisms to replace numbers lost... Though, while I ended up automating more than most of that system as there's more important things to handle, it seems something went wrong.
Introducing, Anomaly No.17
Notable deviations and combinations from typical Orange and Cyan Units:
- Malformed antenna. Right Antenna shorter than left.
- Note: Orange Units seem to be agitated by presence of Anomaly. Antenna are typically seen as a social status, seems to be more than that however.
- Bulkier frame. Similar to Orange bodytype.
- Wing like frills have formed. Similar to Cyan Units.
- Anomaly is capable of performing boosted leaps.
- Note: However. Their bulkier heavier frame leads to more clumsy landings.
- Coloration from Orange and Cyan Units has combined. Notably, Green has formed between their midsection!
- Note: Cyan coloration has been noted in their antenna. Present as well several tail vents have formed an orange color. Cyan Unit's unique coloration has been affected as well.
Research Log:
It seems DNA from a Cyan Unit and an Orange Unit have somehow combined, maybe an improperly sterilized test tube? No matter. I'll check over it myself after this. Continuing on! My Overseers have seen fit to eagerly take pictures of this strange amalgamation of two different unit types. From visual observation and recording the Anomaly's daily activities. Deformation seems fairly low all things considered, outside of their malformed antenna it seems most if not all of their form was spared of additional and horrific defects.
Regarding this Anomaly's capabilities: Despite their larger weightier frame, I have plenty of recordings from Overseers of this Anomaly performing traditional Cyan Unit leaps, albeit more clumsy and with rougher landings. But as for their cross-communication abilities? It seems the malformed antenna has introduced an odd effect on other Orange Units. I've noted particular agitation, discomfort, and even aggression as the Anomaly approaches. While Orange Unit antenna are seen as a social status with the Alpha possessing the longest, It seems there's another factor at play. Potentially they possibly might produce an abnormal frequency? Like when Fuzes tampers with our communication arrays. Regardless it has lead to a majority of Orange Units, especially Alphas, showing hostility and aggression to the Anomaly.
Additionally however, despite its perceived lack of intelligence and laziness, the Anomaly seems to be possibly natively aware of my observations. Whether it be its status as one of my creations or maybe an additional ability acquired from mutations.. this is personal but I swear its toying with me! Fuzes calls me crazy at times for thinking like this, but hes already crazy enough on his own! My most recent personal observation during its brief stay on The Pylon. The Anomaly seemed to take great interest in a patch of fungi. My Overseer recorded at least 3 hours of this Anomaly just... Staring. While I have an infinite capacity for patience, there are more important matters for me to attend to. However as soon as I looked away, the Anomaly resumed activity! Wandering off, observing again. Nothing, just staring! This continued until nightfall and my rain cycle begun, with the Anomaly wandering off to seek shelter for the night.
It seems aware of me somehow, I even have hours of the Anomaly observing my own Overseers. No Burnt Fuzes has additionally recorded the same.
Other observed observations regarding behavior is a decreased amount of aggression to most species, additionally a majority of territorial species, including other Lizards out in the wild, seem to have decreased aggression around the Anomaly (Note: More observation required). While it never seems to care for most wildlife unless hunting, its most recent encounter I have logged has interested me greatly. There are not many Slugcats within my shared Complex with the exception of my dear Technician. However a certain High Priority Target No.1: Tinker, Has breached into my complex once more.
Over the course of several cycles, I have recorded and observed Anomaly No.17 interact with "Tinker". And more recently, a few recorded instances of sharing a recent hunt or even shelter from my rain. The last few cycles they seem to have even formed a mutual affection! While I'm glad the Anomaly has gained a companion, I would have preferred they acquire someone better than that ruffian and thief.
As a last note. Fuzes, if you are reading this, please stop trying to edit my logs. I am NOT calling the Anomaly "Pancakes".
That is all I have for this log. If any new major events occur, I will be sure to document them here.

NBF: but Tinker said his name is Pancakes
NBF: his name is Pancakes :))
ADE: Please stop. Why are you listening to the thief anyways?
NBF: shes cool! i like her
NBF: even if she keeps stealing my stuff
ADE: Regardless, is the 7th time this cycle that you have bothered me over this! I will repeat what I said the prior 6 times.
ADE: I am NOT adding "Pancakes" to an important Log such as this, Fuzes. You cannot make me!
NBF: echo i cannot let you escape this
NBF: i will add another Pancakes to your chamber until you calm down
ADE: What? Fuzes! Stop sending me more Overseers! I don't need more live feeds of the Anomaly!
