Yes, I'm still taking artsy photos at the band house...
Our band's drummer plays a lovely seven piece Gretsch Catalina Maple kit. This badge is on the snare drum. I love how the nickel nameplate complements the shaded brown shells and the chrome rims.
If the Gretsch logo looks familiar, it's probably because it's the same as the so-called "T-Roof" logo that Gretsch also uses on their guitars.
I was amused when a visitor to the band house was amazed to discover that the Gretsch Company made drums; she only knew Gretsch as a guitar making entity. Truth is, Gretsch was a well respected name in drums long before they started making guitars.

I had no idea that Gretsch made drums (Music Nerdness -1 hit points).
As I like to say, I learn something new from my furry friends every day.

Learning something new every day is fun.
Gretsch drums were more of a Jazz drummer's kit; not many Rock drummers preferred them. For a long time, the most visible rock drummer who played a Gretsch kit was The Rolling Stones' Charlie Watts, but The Band's Levon Helm and CCR's Doug Clifford also played Gretsch kits along the way.
*music nerd trivia...no extra charge* ;)

I have a Gretsch guitar with a very similar wood color. One of these weekends I'll remember to take a shot of it with the drums; a "sibling portrait" sort of thing ha!
