Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! Today I bring you another experimental piece of artwork that involves silhouettes! That and as well as bringing back Icarus in his human form and Treya as the alien, dragon like giant worm creature all to boot! I feel like I was really taking a leap with this one considering Icarus is in the foreground and Treya is in the background of this piece. Although you know for a fact it's not a post about Skin to Scales if it didn't give ya some lore information. So! Let's get right to it!
What is being depicted here wrapped in the shadows is known as "Slurpomancy"... Actually, it goes by multiple different names such as "Fleshwelding, Oozelincraft, Glorpmedaling, Welders" and some person even once called it "People who play with slime like it's kinetic sand to make bootleg products." as it's a form of magic and crafting that relies entirely on biological materials. These materials are usually broken down into a slime-like form or ooze that the one behind the forge can create various "copycat materials" out of it. These materials are almost unlimited in their uses such as making unique alloys, adhesives, and it can even create life itself. Unlike a necromancer in the setting that needs to use his own soul or to tear out someone else's to do their bidding- a "Slurpomancer" does not. In fact, it can create an artificial even if "dummy" soul to fill the role as a machine for their automatous creatures that they create. It is also known that this craft is under the Pillar of Ballos and another thing is... Necromancers and Slupromancers will violently yell at one another of who is in the more right to create life. They will never really engage each other but will get into long verbal debates that go in circles with not much happening.
A Slurpomancer also does not work with any "rotten" biological materials and if they do it must be used for composting. There is a lot of spiritual belief also when it comes down to this craft as regular forges and anvils will simply not work. That they must get approval from their god and be able to transform an anvil and hammer to begin their craft. The anvil will have a limited use and they then must create their own without any more assistance from their God. If they fail this task, they are not worthy of working with their God and there is no retries.
...There's more I can say on the topic, but I think I'll leave it at that for now. Thank you all for reading everyone, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.
