I Am Your Lifeline, I Will Never Surrender

There are times where you feel alone,
Desperate and afraid, trapped in a pit of despair.
You struggle to escape,
As the walls close in around you.

No matter where you turn,
The walls are flat and smooth.
Nowhere for you to get a grip,
To climb your way out.

You try and try and try,
To escape from there.
But no matter what you do,
There’s no success to be had.

When all seems hopeless,
When your body and spirit give out.
Take a good look around,
For there is a way out.

All you need to do is look up,
At the edge of that pit.
You will find me there,
Calling out to you.

I will throw you a rope,
A lifeline for you to hold on to.  
I will be the anchor you need,
So you can make your way out.

The world may try and stop me,
To tear me down, to pull me away.
It’ll do everything it can,
To stop me and hurt me.

But I refuse to yield,
I will never surrender.
Let them do their worst,
Let them try and try and try.

I will take every blow,
Every insult they may throw.
I will stand strong against their hate,
It holds no sway over me.

So if ever you need a hand,
Look for me and I’ll be there.
I will be your lifeline,
I will never surrender and leave you alone.
