Raven Fledgling at my workplace - had just left the nest in a tall pine tree on the property that morning. It jumped up on a window ledge outside of the break room and I was able to get some close ups without being dive bombed by the Parent birds. It spent a couple of days around the building, finally worked its way onto the roof and on Friday I watched it join its Parents flying around the state office complex. I've watched the parent birds court in late February, do their nest building thru March this year and brood this little one and feed him in the nest thru the end of May start of June 2023. My security job has me outside a lot and I get to observe the urban wildlife of the complex.

Kinda feel like an uncle to it. Kept watch on them for months. Thought there were 2 chicks.
Well I keep the Parent birds happy. They watch me but don't go after me. I do some good imitations of Raven vocalizations - can get them going at times.
At that age, instead of "Nevermore!" it's saying, "What's for lunch?"
Lot of baby chicks - sparrow, house finch and collared dove chicks. Parent birds raided every other bird nest in the area near the office.
Squab, the other white meat!
Yeah, not to many sq00shy grubs for this guy...

Sure grew up big in a couple of months on his diet. Squab and what ever the parents could scrounge in the area. Lot of duplexes and apartments nearby the state and county office complex - lots of trash cans and dumpsters to raid. Ravens just love how Hyoomons leave food out for them. They check over fast food wrappers and containers like crazy and don't leave a big bag of dog food in the back of a truck for very long... Ravens will tear it open and have a feast. Fun to observe how smart those birds are - makes you wonder how smart their dino kin were 70 million years ago...
