Coronaton Day! - Kaoni Introduction (+Description)
Finally got to post something for the first time and, man, what a start!
This is a prize I won from wushruw's raffle. Go check her out because she is an amazing artist and nailed this one perfectly!
Warning: The following text contains vore.
···❖ Introduction
Kaoni is the emperor of the Galactic Imperium (Or Gal, for short), a union of multiple alien civilizations that peacefully thrived and co-existed together for centuries.
His empire is the largest the galaxy has seen in its history, and it keeps expanding to this day. It is populated by trillions of citizens of all species throughout the Milky Way and covers approximately 60% of its space.
This portrait depicts him when he was still a 19 years old juvenile, on his coronation day. He is currently 31, was crowned in 3245 T.Y. (Terran Year) and ruled very efficiently ever since.
···❖ Personality
Kaoni is friendly and kind-hearted, expecially when speaking to his own citizens. It's very difficult to anger him and he always maintains a calm attitude, but he never allows his kind side to take over his duties: He is very determined to be a good emperor and ready to act cold and severe when necessary.
In unofficial contexts, he likes to be treated with confidence, so he allows the few people that are close to him to treat him as equal.
···❖ Appearance
Kaoni is a male Ragua.
Raguas are gigantic 114 feet (34 meters) tall avian creatures that evolved from a predatory evolutionary path. Their pre-sapient ancestors used to look more like raptors than humanoids and had a way larger beak.
Their size is due to the unusual ability of their home planet, Shantár, to sustain titanic life and, despite this, they are not at the top of the food chain.
They have 2 pairs of eyes, the frontal ones are specialized in hunting while the side ones were used to locate predators trying to sneak on them. Their eyesight can be compared to that of a terran eagle.
They have a tail that resembles that of a gryphon, with a large feather on the tip to help their balance while running.
The crown-shaped organ next to their nostrils powers their sense of smell additionally, making it one of the strongest among the living species in the whole galaxy.
Their stomach possesses a very special ability: It can empty and fill with acids at will with the help of a secondary organ that produces them. With a simple muscle contraption, the acids are squeezed from the stomach to the secondary organ and viceversa.
Raguas have evolved this ability because their pre-sapient ancestors used to hunt smaller preys hiding in the sand. They used their powerful sense of smell to pinpoint the prey under the ground and their gigantic beak to bite into the sand approximately where they located it. They were very efficient at hunting this way but they couldn't digest the prey right away as the stomach got filled with sand as well, so they used to empty it of gastric acids before swallowing and wait for the prey to suffocate inside. At that point, they regurgitate everything and swallow the dead prey again, but this time with acids in their stomach, ready to digest.
···❖ Routine
Kaoni wakes up at 7:30 AM in his royal residence and goes to the Capital Palace which is directly connected to it with a large lawn.
In the palace, he manages the empire in his throneroom from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, then he goes to the Speech Tower, a section of the palace, to perform his empire's tradition, the "Speech", which Kaoni hates (you will know why later), untill 9:00 PM.
After that, the emperor returns to his residence, where he can release the stress of the day by spending his free time with a secret and unexpected friend, Tenn.
···❖ Tenn
I'll briefly introduce this little rascal here, but you can learn more about him here.
Tenn (or the little mouse, as Kaoni likes to call him) is a male Krilin, a mouse-like creature whose size is about a foot shorter than the average human.
He was assigned to clean Kaoni's house and cook for him a year before the emperor's coronation, but his job as a servant is only official as they quickly became best friends and they now spend their free time together in very creative ways.
Despite the emperor's position and his role as his servant, Tenn treats him as equal and with a lot of confidence, but the emperor gladly allows it. Kaoni is never offended by his behaviour: to him, Tenn is the most precious thing in his life and he would sacrifice his empire for him. On top of that, Tenn's boldness amuses him. They are both secretly in love with each other but none of them has yet found the courage to confess it.
When spending their free time together, they cuddle, joke, tease and play with each other. Their favorite activitiy is playing games such as catch or hide-and-seek, where Kaoni always ends up swallowing him, but not before emptying his stomach of gastric acids, obviously.
Kaoni doesn't really know why, but Tenn seems very much into that, but the emperor doesn't think too much about it. He actually enjoyes doing this a little too.
···❖ The Speech
For more than a millennium, the Gal was ruled by very skilled emperors but, despite this, it is way too large for problems not to appear everywhere.
Crime, poverty and instability are commonplace issues and, in an attempt to alleviate them, a tradition was born long ago. It is called "Speech" and, on a daily basis, about 20-30 citizens line up in the Speech Tower to perform it.
The Speech is basically an audience with the emperor and it consists in 3 steps:
1 - The citizens queue outside in a large waiting room. When their turn comes, the door that leads to the main hall opens and the citizen walks on a bridge that extends to the emperor's beak. If they decide to proceed, the citizen is required to step inside BEFORE they are allowed to speak. Violation of this rule results in an offense involving immediate interruption of the audience and a multiple-month prison sentence.
2 - The citizen is allowed to change their mind before proceeding, but as soon as they step inside Kaoni's beak, their fate is sealed and there is no turning back. The conversation can be about anything, but most of the times it's about help requests, such as medical or economical assistance for their families. The emperor is not forced to grant these requests, but Kaoni gladly does so if they are reasonable.
3 - At the end of the conversation, the citizen is swallowed whole and digested soon after. This is the price for the audience and it is so high because queues would be infinite on a daily basis otherwise. The emperor himself is not allowed to violate this rule as the word would spread very quickly as a result.
It is a very brutal tradition for an empire so advanced, both culturally and technologically, and Kaoni despises having to do this more than anything. Unfortunately, the tradition of this empire is embraced and cherished by its citizens and, despite Kaoni's powerful position, it cannot be removed without the consent of the people.
Kaoni hates knowing to be the cause of death for dozens of his citizens who only come to him seeking help, and the fact that he can't do anything about it destabilizes him.
To Kaoni, every citizen who decides to die performing the speech is a citizen that his empire has failed, and this fills his heart with an immense sorrow.
If it wasn't for Tenn, this would've impacted on Kaoni's mental health very quickly but, thanks to him, Kaoni has someone to share his burden with.

This is an impressive amount of worldbuilding.
I like to imagine the Ragua's ancestors went after Sarlaac-like soft burrowers lacking in the claws, poisons, or intelligence to resist their fate. Still, the implication that even the Ragua weren't on top of the food chain is morbidly fascinating.
I'd be surprised if no one spent years drafting that which they'd martyr themselves for. Serious insights on philosophy and social progress, more so than one can hope to achieve in life. Though it would also be a pretty effective purge method for Jehovah's Witnesses, militant vegans, and talkative blue dragons with feathered wings.
