On second thought, Bowie would have been a propos as an opener. :V

Hey, a record-breaker! I recorded this two weeks ago. :3 Also, under 13 minutes? Unheard of! Also also, wow, I really sound like I'm sick or something. I may have just been tired.
And yes, I'm really serious about FA artists contributing to this podcast. I've got a couple tracks held back from previous episodes that I have ready to use, but beyond that, most of it is going to be copyrighted professional stuff, and that's only going to work up to a point. I'd rather not have to go out and ask everyone individually every time I want to use one of their songs, so please, spread the word! You can view the descriptions of previous episodes to see how I handle crediting. If I can make this show any more community-focused than it already is, it would make me quite happy.
And my aim with the shorter reviews is more or less quantity over quality, but only because lengthy reviews where I go on and on about how mediocre something is aren't really 'quality' anyway.
Wow, that bit on furry singers is lame. ._. Sorry, guys. "Furry singers: Go there! :D" -.-;
I feel the need to mention that Casey Lalonde/
corbinbusker is unfortunately no longer on FA. :/
I really think that 80's chick in the music video is supposed to be Cher, but I have no way of knowing for sure. If you want to see this kind of video done previously, and ostensibly better, I recommend "When It's Over" by Sugar Ray. It does the exact same thing (with Kareem Abdul Jabbar!).
And just for the record, the decreased music use allowed me to sit down and edit this all in one go, in about three hours, as opposed to 4 or 5 hours in two sections.
Albums reviewed:
Anberlin- Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place
Too Small the Limelight- Rewrite the Ending
Keri Hilson- Pretty Girl Rock
Dredg- The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion
Majesty- Sword and Sorcery
Final Chapter- The Wizard Queen
Dance Nights: Uplifting Trance 02
LEGACY REVIEW: Aerosmith- Permanent Vacation
Music used:
Black Kids- I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You
Yoko Kanno- The Egg and I
Look Left- If You Break It, They Will Come
OutPhase- Summer Vacation (CU mix)

Thank you so very much for the mention. ^^ It is greatly appreciated- you always do flatter me so. *Wags a bit* Hopefully I'll be getting around to making some more worthwhile stuff in the next few months.... Also debating doing another CD this spring/summer- I've got a tentative song list, I just have to actually record the stuff. *Snickerwoofs* Which is always the slow bit, with me. Regardless, thank you again for your support- any input is better than none, and usually I get very little at that. *Flicks an ear*
In regards to background music and such, you're certainly more than welcome to use anything of mine that you'd like... not that I'm entirely sure what might be decent or fitting enough, but regardless, you do have my permission. If there's anything I've done that you'd like a copy of without lyrics, do let me know. I can easily send you a copy like that for most things in my gallery... though the older tracks were made before I did multitrack, so those I can't pull lyrics from. The good news is I want to go back and re-do a lot of my older stuff. Sooo if there's any of those you DO want to use, feel free to say so- it may give me the incentive to actually get it done. *Wags absently*
Also hadn't known about the singers-group here on Fah... I've debated finding another singer to do my stuff, since I tend to think my voice is one of the main downsides to a lot of my submissions. Again, if there's anything of mine you'd like to give a go at, yourself, let me know and I can send some music along. I'm always open to hearing different voices with my music, as it is. It's refreshing, and eventually may help me find a replacement for... myself. *Laughs*
Cheers! ^^

I suppose I'll also fave this out of self-centered glory. And I forgot to mention- what IS it with lead singers all being assholes? Needless to say, even if they are such, there seem to be quite a few bands that would have been better off just ending rather than getting a "replacement".... >_<
I will check things out and see if anything would work. :) Tracks do need a certain 'depth' if you will to work as background.
I would really love to work with you, but I'm still waiting until I can get a new microphone, and at this point, that's more or less a pipe dream. I may need to remake my computer first. :/
And as for your other comment, I dunno, but it seems to come with the territory. Being out front and getting all the attention, I suppose. I daresay, if I made it big singing with a band, I would be hard-pressed to keep my ego in check. c.c;;

Oh, I do understand. ^^ I just thought I would make the offer, so the option is available to you, should it somehow work. ^^
Aww... well, do keep me updated. It's not as though I'm apt to find a singer anytime soon. I don't even technically have a "band", so things are progressing at a very un-border-collie-ish pace. *Muses* I'd love a new mic, someday, m'self... a nice studio mic. Should I happen to get one before you do, yourself, I'll keep you in mind to see if you'd like this one I'm currently using. *Noddles*
It does make sense, granted... though at that point I don't know why the rest of the band doesn't just shrug it off. Easier said than done, I know. But if you're still getting paid to do what you like, in this case "play music", then I'd hate to baww and ragequit just because one member had some unwarranted self-importance. ^^

I don't disagree with anything you said. Thanks for the thoughtful review!
A bit of constructive criticism though - your vocal edits in your podcast could use some work - they happen incredibly frequently and are very jarring. Do you have some automatic algorithm that is comping takes together anytime there is a pause in input? There's no breaks at all between your speech patterns and it's very unnatural.

Actually, that's the whole point. Admittedly modeled on 2's rants, I basically just remove all pauses (most of which are filled with breaths, 'um', etc.) and let the words string together, save where a pause is needed to make my meaning clear, or to separate sections. If nothing else, taking out all the whitespace lets me fit more stuff in!
There are, however, sometimes instances where the noise filter I run on the whole file after recording cuts off softly spoken lead-in words. Either that, or what I hear when I'm editing turns out not to be what gets saved, and that's all software and it irritates me because I don't know how to fix it. :/
But otherwise, it's supposed to be that way. :) I do thank you for the criticism.
