Katherine De Valvyn, Claws in the blizzard
She defended an already upopular order of bloodhunters on one hand and blackmailed the shit out of the order on the order to have them intronise her and introduce her to their ways, granting them a wing of the De Valvyn's Castle and a vast network of ressources as a base of operation, a better reputation and protection from waterdeep's grand duchy in exchange of which, having an order's base right in your castle granded said grand duchy with a competent, skilled and versatile bulwark against all manners of foes their people usually encountered.
And thus, with both her family and the order reluctant to accept each other due to their respective prejudices and reputation, Katherine underwent 'the taming' ceremony and began her training, hopeful to find a new purpose and be, to her family instead of a good little noble breeder a huntress that would provide protection to her bloodline and people, living the most exhilirating life she could forsee.
Little issue though... dragonborns usually live in one part of faerun, places were lycanthropy is usually found is sort of at the opposite end and thus records of both events metting and mingling is sort of... inexistant, leaving the order to be exeedingly cautious in how to tackle the new trainee's novelty.
Doesn't help that although sprouting a proportionately thin line of fur on her collar, katherine's hybrid form looks nothing like a werewolf or other forms of lycanthropies in that matter.
Now of course, in order to easily comfirm or infirm the theory one could have katherine infect a standard human sentenced to death or somehow ask malar directly which nobody was stupid enough to try as of yet.
It helps even less that, in the following years, Ivan de valvyn and the order's leader eventually grew to respect and appreciate each other and in sharing personal histories and bits of information about katherine both came to see the huge, blazing hot red flags she was presenting, both practically convinced some fuckery orchestrated by the Irlyrina's old patrons occurred and that they have begun making their move on a path to revenge.
Which then shifted katherine's whole training to focusing on an even more rigorous etiquette or self restraint, measure and composure which was the one thing she was hoping to flee from on joining the lycan order and severely slowed down her bloodhunter education.
And after 3 years came amid an undercover operation with her first ever 'party' the revelation of some of the sword's coast dark dealings from various noble houses, trade groups and organisations which in her haste to do what was best to safeguard her people and family led to her publishing with proof and under a flase pseudonim one of the most inflamatory pamphlet denouncing the scheme, the anonimityof which lasted for about two weeks before her party, not possessing the protection of a powerful noble family, got butchered and she, for her own safety whilst her folks tried to avoid an all out war with the accused factions sent her away in secret to a distant icewind dale property, Ivan regretting to have no choice but to send her to THE place he should not send HER in particular to.
Which finally leaves us, 3 years later to 21 year old Katherine Irlyrina posing as a fake 'born of nothing merchant pretending to be falsely part of nobility' supposedly to have a two steps failsafe in a motley group of mercenaries just aching to get her rapier or claws bloody on something

she, careful you don't wanna upset her especially in that state hehe
as any De Valvyn, she is abnormally tall for a dragonborn, not by much but still and shows traits that standard dragonborns would qualify as perhaps a bit too draconic for the norm.
add to that the 'lycanthropy' and she towers at a nice 6,7ft when not turned and 7,1ft when standing upright when transformed
