Flowers are such... oddly fascinating organisms, as I've come to gradually learn. Arrestingly gorgeous, yet so terribly fine and delicate that even slight pressure can completely break them apart... And beyond that alluring elegance held within their soft, fragile petals, there can be so much deeper meaning in those charmingly bright hues and uniquely shaped blooms of every kind of flower if you can speak their own, special kind of language. Even the most beautiful of bouquets could be an intricately woven silent poem of deepest true love for the one who means the most to you, or as a secretive declaration of utter, outright resentment, wishing every kind of ill curse and misfortune upon someone that you disdain down to the very last fiber of your being. How interesting... that something so naturally pleasant to the eye can whisper things both incredibly wonderful and crushingly horrendous alike, all depending on the exact intent and the desired message placed behind them.
So tell me, what do you believe these bewitching blossoms are trying to convey here? Bright, towering walls of golden tansies, graceful clusters of citrus-scented thyme, and magnificent purple columbines with their ever-bowing buds... Mayhaps that is for them to know, and for us to try and decipher for ourselves. Clandestine knowledge kept quietly hidden from us right there before our own eyes, and that its holders will be most eager to impart only upon those who are willing to truly learn how to understand them...
An absolutely stunning and utterly gorgeously done icon piece that I got quite some time ago and have finally gotten around to uploading, featuring my beautiful fantasy warrior wolf Gault Tremont in what might be a bit more of an unusual setting for him! But I suppose even strong, gruff mannered, battle hardened fighters can take the time to admire the brilliantly fleeting beauty of a garden in full blossom... I mean, sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses sometimes, right? For a little bit of explanation and some interesting facts regarding flower language, tansies can represent protection, resistance, and even immortality, but in more negative connotations can also present a message of hostility and a declaration of war. Thyme flowers tend to symbolize courage and fortitude, while columbine flowers are signs of wisdom, peace, and strength, with purple columbines in particular being associated with penance or resolution. I felt like these particular flowers felt quite fitting for Gault and his story, as someone who acts as a guardian and champion to those who can't fend for themselves in the face of great danger, who seeks to ward off evil wherever it may appear, who perhaps is willing to take on such a risky lifestyle full of brutality, violence, and death potentially waiting around every corner as a way of seeking redemption for past wrongs that he doesn't even fully remember himself. But for as long as he's able of mind, body, and soul, the fearless Night Hunter has no intentions of ever stopping in his persistent, never-ending crusade against the forces of malice and wickedness, even if it is a battle that he'll surely spend the entirety of his own lifetime fighting...
That all aside, though, god I absolutely can't get over how absolutely stunning and magnificent this piece is! It honestly really feels like a beautifully done painting of the Night Hunter himself that would be seen hung up above the fireplace in a huge, luxurious room. I especially love the look of Gault's stalwart, stern-looking expression as he gazes towards the viewer as if he just happened to notice you there over his shoulder, while he carefully clutches the small bouquet of columbines between his fingers like they had been freshly plucked. The sheer amount of texturing and detailing that went into this piece especially is just incredible and astounding, the soft, silky look of all the fur and his trailing mane, the glistening, metallic sheen of the golden colored bands, the smoothness of the monstrous hide and bits of carapace that makes up his armor... And honestly, my most favorite little bit of detail is the look of those long, spindly claws. They certainly seem very sharp and quite deadly under certain circumstances, but are used in such a careful, attentive way to clutch at the thin, delicate-looking stems of the flowers as he holds them in his hand. Honestly, it's very hard to not just stare at and admire them... As if in a way conveying that this steely-eyed, grim-faced, deathly serious warrior has something of a hidden softer, more gentle side, kept under wraps beneath layers of ironclad sternness and a very reserved kind of personality that doesn't wear his heart on his sleeves. And my god the background is just stunning beyond words... The tall, bright yellow bunches of tansies that seem to tower above towards the heaven give a wonderful contrast to the purple hues of the thyme flowers in the foreground and the columbines Gault clutches in his fingers, and the blue-purple of the skies with the big, puffy-looking clouds gives the atmosphere of a cool, breezy, sunny day out while out walking about in the gardens. I have to wonder how it's like, the scent of the air as it's rich and heavy with the fragrance of all the flowers there, how light and cool the wind must feel as it rushes by, how warm the light of the sun is as it falls upon your back... A moment of much needed peace and quietude for the mighty warrior to relish in for as long as it might last. The artist did an absolutely incredible job of really capturing the feel and atmosphere of this piece, and it's just so amazingly done all around, for sure~ <3333
This superbly awesome and magnificent piece was courtesy of the also superbly awesome, super lovely, wonderfully talented, and very sweet Castycom!! And honestly, I've gotten all kinds of spectacular artworks from this artist over the past year or so, but this is perhaps among one of my absolute favorites from them that they've done by far! As always, thank you so very much for such an astounding art piece and for the opportunity to be able to collaborate with you once more! You do all kinds of amazing stuff and I feel like you only seem to get better and better with every piece, it's always just such a joy and an honor to be able to ask for you to draw these ideas that I bring to you and depicting my characters for them as well! And I'm very happy to have had you do one of these for my precious pretty warrior man Gault as well, you really did such an excellent job with him! Though to be honest, I had absolutely no doubts that you would since you just know how to really nail and get down all the details of the character's design and personality! It's always such a great experience to be able to work and talk with you whenever you show the different stages of the piece, you're a super cool, awesome, and lovely person overall, and I look forward to having the opportunity to get a commission done from you every single time! Thank you so very much for this and for everything that you've ever done for me, and definitely keep up the fantastic work in the meantime as well~ <3333
And hey, if you're somehow not already following Casty with how much I've commissioned them on many occasions before, then maybe you should remedy that by hopping over to their page, giving them a watch, dropping a fave on the original post of this piece in his gallery and on any of their other works that catch your eye, and consider shooting them a commission if you'd like to get something like this for yourself! They do super amazing and excellent quality art for pretty reasonable prices, whether it's a simpler, sketchy kind of piece or a fully rendered and detailed artwork like this! Casty offers icons on a roughly monthly basis that cost $35 apiece for something of this kind of similar quality with a character of your choice, and they do offer regular commissions and YCHs as well every so often if you're looking for something bigger and much more detailed! Their icon slots for this month are full at the moment, but they are currently offering sketch commissions at a starting price of $40 for one character with a simple background included with 3 slots open if you're interested in grabbing something from them! And if you're looking to maybe get a cool new banner done to decorate your profile page with, Casty does still have 2 slots open for taking banner commissions too if you'd like to order one! Regardless of what it is that you're looking for and no matter the price, you can be sure that you're getting some really nice and great quality art in exchange! And even if you're not able to afford anything or simply aren't interested in getting art for yourself, I still highly encourage you all to at least give an awesome and very talented artist the attention, support, and love they deserve by at least giving them a follow on their page and sharing their artworks around!
Links to Casty's currently open commission offers for sketches and banners with prices included will be provided below! Please do consider checking them out if you're interested in possibly ordering something from them, and if you don't have the funds to buy one or don't wish to get any art, it would still be super appreciated if you could at least fave and share some of their stuff around with friends, acquaintances, followers, and others who might like to have a look and get something for themselves!

This is very beautiful! Gault looks like he's at piece looking at those flowers!
Casty did a really great job! ^^
Casty did a really great job! ^^
Even the hardiest and strongest warriors should enjoy those moments of peace from time to time, for sure. Fighting so many battles can get exhausting after a while, and I feel that Gault knows well enough that life is far too fleeting to not at least relish in the beauty and wonder of the world all around whenever the opportunity arises. He’ll definitely make the most of this moment of quietude, basking in the warm glow of the sun, the cool breeze, and the soothing fragrance of the flowers as well, leaving all of his stresses and worries behind for another day to come.
Oh for sure, for sure! It really feels like Casty definitely went all out for this! Like honestly, this level of detail for a $35 icon piece is just crazy to even think about, yet they manage to pull it off so well and make it look really amazing too! They definitely deserve huge kudos for all the awesome work that they do, no ifs, ands, or buts about it~ ^^
Thank you so very much as always for the fave and for the super wonderful comment as well, sweetheart! Super appreciated as per usual, and thanks a bunch for your constant support as well! Always glad to get such notifications from you and seeing what you have to say, hehe~ Thank you so much again, and love you lots too, my dearest, loveliest, sweetest, most precious Serg~ 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜

Indeed. There's always time to take a break and appreciate the calmer things in life, including flowers and all. Life isn't always about fighting and all. No doubt Gault would be appreciative of nature and all, like Henry :3
Wow, just for $35? Talk about a steak. It looked like he went all out on it~! ^.v.^
Of course, my sweetheart! Love you so much too, my most loveliest, dearest, sweetest, ost precious Lynx~ 🥰🥰🥰💙💙💙💙💙

Gosh, this is beautiful ! Both so calm, and... sorts of dignified. As if Gault was reflecting on something, a past event, himself, his vision of life or future... but not directly the flowers, that are not directly the center of the picture (despite being pretty), but more a tool of reflexion ^^
It's really great !
It's really great !
Ahhhhh thank you so much!! It definitely feels like a very reflective and introspective kind of piece, for sure, and I feel like Gault probably has a lot that weighs on his mind day in and day out. You might wonder what it is that he’s thinking so deeply about… And the flowers all around him really set the scene and give a warm, peaceful, calming atmosphere, wonder what it might be like to go on a walk through such a surely sweet-smelling garden on a good day, you know? And of course Casty always does such wonderful and lovely work, but wow, this level of detail for a piece like this was honestly just amazing! They only seem to get better and better with each new artwork they do, and I absolutely can’t recommend them enough for people to check out and follow! They definitely deserve all the support and attention they get for the awesome work they do! 😁

He looks so broody. Brooding about the beuty and meaning of flowers.
I think the meaning the flowers wish to convey is one of mutual cooperation and benefits. The flowers grow these ornate blooms to signal that they are willing to feed instects, which then in turn pollinate the flower, benefitting both, and making them stronger together. They also provide a relaxing beuty and pleasant scent to humans, causing humans to purposefully feed and water them.
They are living metafors for the benefits of helping others.

He is certainly quite a broody, deep thinking guy, for sure. Though I think that aspect gives his character a bit more depth, as opposed to being a pretty stereotypical warrior type who lives only to fight and not much else outside of that, you know?
Mmmmmm... That's actually a pretty interesting way to look at it, yeah! When you really think about it, without the existence of plants and flowers, life in general wouldn't even really be possible. Not only do plants give a significant and reliable food source for many animals, they're also one of the primary means why oxygen is quite plentiful on Earth as well. Plants in general are among the main building blocks of the great life pyramid, without them, most everything else wouldn't be able to really exist at all. So the idea of them representing the benefits of helping others does work quite well, and by ensuring flowers and plants are kept healthy we in turn are can continue to maintain our own livelihoods.
Thank you so very much as always for the fave and for your thoughtful, wonderful comment, Thieu! Sorry for the delay in responding back, I just haven't had the time and energy to be able to for quite a while, but I greatly appreciate hearing from you all the same! Always happy to see fave and comment notifications from you, and I'm glad that you enjoy the artworks that I commission and share as much as I do, hehe~ Hope you're having a very lovely day/night, and I wish you a nice week as well, my dear fellow feathered flyer~ 💜💜💜

This looks absolutely beautiful, and Gault looks wonderful with those flowers! Casey did such a great job drawing this for you, Phoenix! ;)
You did such a fantastic job with the story and description, Phoenix, keep up the great work! 😊❤

Oh for sure, for sure!! Casty absolutely knocked it way out of the park with just the amount of effort and detail that they really put into this piece, like I certainly didn't expect something quite like this for an icon artwork but as always they never fail to amaze and impress! There's definitely something to be said about how they really take the time to make sure that the artwork comes out looking awesome, and being able to get something like this for $35 seems crazy because I would easily pay at least $60 for an icon piece of this kind of quality! Casty deserves huge kudos just in general for the incredible work that they do, and they absolutely deserve all the support and attention that they get! Honestly can't recommend them enough, and I will continue to shout to the heavens and share with others how great this artist is because it's really the least I can do to show my gratitude and appreciation for what they do!
As always, thank you so very much for the very lovely and warm words, Case! I can't help but always look forward to whenever you can stop by to leave a comment whenever I post up a new art piece that I commissioned, because you just have no shortage of compliments and positive feedback to share and I can't express in words alone how much I really appreciate it! That you and other people really enjoy what I like to do purely just for the fun of it honestly means a lot, and to be fair I hadn't expected to get such positive responses from others in general when I first started including these little blurbs and short stories with commissioned artworks that I got and shared on my page here... It's been a bit of a long and honestly rather frustrating journey to try getting back into the creative swing again, as being able to have the time and energy to do more of the longer form short stories like before has continued to elude me. But I'm still just so glad to be able to have people like you to support and cheer me on even during the rougher times, and that you've stuck around for so long already following along with and commenting on my posts whenever possible is really no small feat to me! Again, I really can't thank you enough just for all of the support you've expressed over the past many months, and I hope that you'll continue to stick around for many more yet to come! Much appreciated, and I wish you a very wonderful day, a super lovely week, and a pleasant and enjoyable summer season, my dear friend~ 🥰💜💜💜

As he should, haha~ Even though I haven’t compiled all the details of his backstory into something more detailed and comprehensive yet, Gault is technically meant to be something of an enigma in a way in that no one seems to know who he really is, including even himself. I hope to be able to build more of his character over time through artworks and accompanying stories, and sharing glimpses into his past as well to give hints of why he is the way he is. But from what I’ve envisioned for him thus far, he is definitely meant to be a troubled and tragic sort of character who aspires to find some means of redemption for himself, even if it means dedicating his entire life seeking a conclusion to what could very well be a never-ending quest, if that makes sense.
Never ending quest of discovery? That sounds like an amazing character build.
A truly beautiful piece -- in concept, illustration, and wording.
Floral language is indeed an incredible cultural invention, and to see it being explained in this most unlikely of places was a joyous treat -- thank you for that!
A significant piece for Tremont, not just because of the contrast of this gentle sentiment, but because it unveils slightly his life prior to his becoming committed to a life of righteous pursuit, violence and horror. He must have been an educated person, and perhaps even a scholar, an artist, and someone who didn't care about the gender brackets of the fantasy world's usual feudal trappings.
He is seen here ruminating the possible fateful meaning of the flowers in his vicinity, but he also appears to be reminiscing about his past, when he could still afford to be as gentle as the flower in his fingers.
