📯⚔️🗡️
Once there were two brothers who attained divinity. (How this happened is not relevant to this story, but maybe another time.) They were given reign over two planets, circling two stars in a binary system. Sibling planets, just like them!
Upon gaining this godhood, the older brother H'chul used its power to transform himself into a dazzling, wild and colorful new version of himself. He wanted any who looked at him to feel joy and mirth! He envisioned a future where he would walk among his people, bringing laughter and smiles wherever he appeared.
On the other hand, the younger brother Garr had much different ambitions. He used his power to rip off and replace his forelimbs with ones crafted from cold metal; his right for manipulating, his left a great sword. He envisioned himself as a God-King and a conqueror. He had his first goal in mind already.
He said, "Brother! Let us have a contest. We will pit our peoples against each other in play-fights every now and then. We will see who has nurtured a stronger people."
H'chul agreed, thinking that sounded like a bit of fun.
But when the time came for these fights to begin, Garr did not come to play. He came down with the full force of his army, hand-selected and bred for overwhelming strength. H'chul's people, who had been allowed to develop in a much more hands-off environment, were no match against them.
H'chul was devastated by the losses each time these invasions occurred, but found he was unable to stop them. Instead, he encouraged his people to hide themselves deeper in the waters of their planet's oceans. Garr's horde were unable to follow them into the abyss.
The next time Garr stormed his brother's world, he couldn't find anyone to engage. Only weary H'chul, alone and begging for the contest to be called off.
"You win. Your people are indeed stronger than mine," H'chul sighed. "You have your victory, isn't that enough?"
Garr laughed, and shook his head. He went for the final strike, devouring the shocked and betrayed H'chul in an instant.
And then there was only one brother. The better brother.
