is that a euphemism or would fucking a human actually make him start developing eggs
Viz is talking about the outcast Yinglets Kass got assaulted by. Brakka actually planned to rape her, he just got interrupted by Elim wiping out his gang.
I think Viz more means Kas's assailants. cause it was heavily implied they were gonna bang her.
I'm curious to know how Vizlet thinks human breeding works. Or if she thinks humans and yinglets are compatible some how.
Or if that was just a really strange way of her asking if they were a couple.
Or if that was just a really strange way of her asking if they were a couple.
Oooh. thought she was talking about elim tbh
geeze doesnt look like im not the only one.

That makes way more sense. I'd be having that same massive sigh.
Thanks for the quick answer.
Thanks for the quick answer.
I legit thought she asked if Kass and Elim banged and were making some human-yinglet hybrids too. XD
I'm finding it kinda weird that people are confused on this considering Viz specifically mentions the exiles as part of the question.
brains are funny things. you tell someone to NOT press the button, they will forget the NOT and remember to press the button.
also context things. like how if we keep talking about white things then i ask what cow drink you'll think milk, the links are there, you just have to think to realise it isn't the correct answer.

Pretty sure she means Brakka and gang, since they had Kass at their mercy for an unknown (to her) period of time. Exiles probably have a reputation for being rather eager when they have their hands on a female.
If she meant to refer to Elim, she'd have said "his eggs" rather than "zheir eggs", I think.

This raises so many questions. It's hilarious, but is that even /possible/?
Between yinglet and human, who knows, but i think viz is asking if kass was forced breaded by the yinglet gang that attacked elm
I'll be honest. I didn't even see "Ze exiles". That makes it much worse.
Wait, can humans and yinglets actually interbreed?
If it's not possible to begin with, why ask that question? It wouldn't matter even if they had been banging.
If it's not possible to begin with, why ask that question? It wouldn't matter even if they had been banging.
She's referring to the yinglets who accosted her. Three guesses what they were tossed out for...
this could also be implying they are together even if not possible to bare eggs type thing
Good thing Kassen has had time to process all that's happened. If Viz had tried to have this talk earlier I shudder to imagine how much spicier Kass Kass's reaction would've been to that question. He was feeling little love for scavkind for a few days there.
I think people are misinterpreting what Vizlet is talking about here. She's not talking about Elim; she's apologizing about the way Brakka and the other outcasts treated Kass before Elim saved them.
Vizlet is asking if Kass is carrying the outcasts' eggs.
It's really grim in this context. :(

Well, the scene itself was about to be grim. If Elim hadn't disobeyed orders and rescued him, he might very well be carrying exile eggs. They likely wouldn't have been distracted by tits and tailpoof for long, and Kass was surprised they were at all.
It's a good thing Elim was there for sure, and that the exiles were so clueless!
Guys.. shes talking about the yinglet gang XD Not about human/yinglet intercourse leading to eggs
*giggle-snerk*
Viz jsut HAD tp add the insult to injury and put that thought into Kassen's head! XD
Let's check how long it'll take for Female Yinglet hormones to kick in and turn that thought into an uncontrollable wet fantasy/dream in the future to make poor Kassen feel even more confused and miserable. ^^;
(Yeah, I know it's a misunderstanding on my, and many other readers' part, but the very thought that Kassen might interpret her words same way, makes me giggle. :P)

I feel like both answers to 'who' are correct, maybe. Vizlet might be talking about the gang, Kass might be thinking with Elim.
I think you might have hit on the right interpretation there. Kass jumped to the wrong conclusion, just like me and quite a few other folk here. It would certainly explain the violence of Kass's reaction!
Yeah, it's about the context of the scene. Vizlet apologized for the gang then brought up how close Kass and Elim are. This sets the conversation on the topic of Kass and Elim as the gang was brought up and resolved rather succinctly. Kass is also very not-well versed in his currently biology outside of what he can observe with his eyes and actions, yinglets being compatible with non-yinglets is not something he'd be all that aware of. If it were even possible, that is.
Hey, maybe that could be a funny gag for the next page. Kass could've been like most of us and misinterpreted Vizlet as meaning Elim instead of Brakka's gang and needs to have her elaborate on the point.
It took me a solid bit to realize Viz's question is in reference to the gang of yings and not Elim.
Honestly the former makes way more sense, but the latter is so much funnier. 🤭

WOW that was a dark implication!
I uh... Regret some of my positive previous statements about the outcasts now if that is a legit concern and not just her covering her bases... Like... Damn if that's something they legit do, all of them can go to hell, even the ones I previously really liked... (The patriarch and his daughter)

Huh? It isn't like yinglets are a fresh species of sorts which are just at the beginning of building their own culture, taboos and all?
I am wildly assuming here rape being somewhat different for these outcast yinglets than for a standard human.

Uuuuuuuuh bro... What the fuck?
The implication here is that Vizlet was worried Kass got violently gang raped. That's DARK! That's FUCKED! That's like... Someone who does that sort of thing doesn't deserve to have nice things said about them! I mean look, its fiction, if you want to defend it... Fucking WILD, but okay whatever, but MY subjective view, which is what I was referring to when I said I take back my own previous statements about the dad and daughter being cool and wholesome, is something I am allowed to change my mind on and walk ALL THE WAY BACK!
Fuuuuuuuuuck them! If that was something they where going to do and Vizlet wasn't just being paranoid or jumping to bias conclusions based on her own dislike of the outcasts, then PERSONALLY, as a SA survivor, so someone with a heavy bias admittedly, I say that gang needs to get yeeted into the damn sun!
Fuck'in... God damn!
*deep breath*
Anyway... I like the comic, I don't mind it tackling darker subject matter, even in a joking way, just like, damn if she actually means what she's implying, my sympathies twisting HARD away from the outcasts!

Yes, that IS what the gang wanted to do. But of the three who were involved (the foot fetishist was too bubble-headed to even be involved), two are dead and Brakka wishes he was.
Fair, my issue is more that if Vizlet's first thought upon hearing, "Kass had a run in with the outcasts, it went poorly" was, "Fuck! Is she pregnant!?" That STRONGLY implied that either A. Vizlet has a very negative view on them and that it was just bad luck that Brakka lived up to her own worst fears about what kinda people they are OR B. The outcasts ARE ACTUALLY infamous for acts of SA, this is a real and broadly applicable threat posed by the whole group and anyone associated with them is either a horrific predator or permissive of that behavior.
If its A. Then Brakka and his boys still deserve everything they got and more, but the rest of the outcasts are broadly fine, no real issues with liking any of them. BUT if its B. Then EVERYONE of those characters can go straight to the heart of the sun!

Probably B.
The traditional yinglet treatment of egregious felons is exile. Since a yinglet by itself is like…well, that is the expression this world uses for such situations. So exile is pretty much a slow motion execution back in the Yinglets homeland.
But this is an urban environment and Brakka was able to organize a yinglet criminal underground.

That doesn't necessarily follow that every outcast is then a rapist. If the only requirement is: "Must have done something really bad" then that could mean that outcasts are the way they are for all manner of things, murder, SA, religious blasphemy, political radicalism, heck even just doing something that other cultures would consider a non issue (like, I donno, defying traditional gender roles by not letting your daughter get used as a breeder, instead wanting to let her have more of a chance to define her own path in life) that might be seen as going to far for traditional yinglet society.
If that's the case, it might be that the outcasts, broadly, can't keep as tight a leash on there own and don't know or turn a blind eye towards disturbing reports because they just don't have the ability or desire to dig into every possible violation, but should they learn of that, they would be just as disgusted as anyone else. Brakka might have been in a position where he was able to cross lines that would get anyone else killed either because he was to valuable for anyone to want to actually look for proof of what everyone kinda suspected or because he's a free agent unrelated to the other outcast enclaves.
That would paint the outcasts in a bad light, but still leave them... Dark gray morally speaking. Willing to turn a blind eye to really evil actions because they simply cannot survive and hold to higher moral principles at the same time right now. But they could still have enough decency left to put Brakka down if they knew, without a doubt, that he was doing that stuff because valuable or not, they won't allow that.
Alternatively... The outcasts broadly are predatory, hunting lightly guarded females to bolster there own numbers. In which case, they are monsters. They might have justifications, but I don't give a damn, they are actively engaging in vial behavior and subjecting others to intensely horrific, traumatizing acts to survive and at that point... Fuck em.

As females are generally kept secured within safe enclave areas, there's basically no precedent for interactions between exiles and females! So nobody, including Vizlet, really know what to expect. She just needed to be sure, in order to know if she needed to have certain talks about what to expect when you're expecting with Kass.
And it is her job to document the pairings and bloodlines of the local ying population, both planned and rarely, unplanned.

Gotcha!
Thanks Val, always appreciate your 'word of god' on this stuff!
Also, really happy to hear that the fear is more academic then... Well related to horrific elements of world building we are now learning.

Thank you for your piece of mind first, then followed by a piece of excuse: i do not intend to downplay what -could- habe happened to kass and shiushhh
To inform you - i am a naive cis male who has at the time being a ace demi orientation and nothing else to provide, read: -very- naive towards some things.
To me it plain reads like: raep is bad. Like, amongst baddest things in the world. Like hunor about that ist stupid levels of dark, if its humor at all.
Or sooomething along these lines.

Look its fine, I didn't mean to blow up at you, I am sorry for that, I just find that behavior abominable and it felt like your post was sort of going, "I mean... Is it fair to judge them? I mean they might not even see it as a problem so its fine."
I get you didn't actually mean that, again I am sorry for snapping at you, I just know there are allot of folks who take that sort of position and I acted rashly because of that. Sorry.
Thank you for the cookies.

Brakka DID get yeeted into the sun. At least until a wall got in the way.
on a scale of 1 to 10 how tramatized would kass be apon seeing a CERTAIN IMAGE I have commissioned of the subject involving brakka but not kass
Carrying outcast eggs must be something that tarnishes a female yinglet's image. :Vc
That or Vizlet's as Matriarch. I think, even though she doesn't claim any authority over Kas, as the Matriarch she might still be held accountable if a female got knocked-up by an outcast.
THIS is one of the most interesting parts of this entire ordeal, that have understandably not been touched on yet but- since I started reading this in ~2016 I've been thinking about this idea. I know guys and even ladies sometimes joke about waking up as the opposite sex one morning and you know, how craaazy you'd get in that body- but
Sincerely- I'm bi, right? But I still almost exclusively top- and if I suddenly female-d... Like I'd be struggling with it too! How would a purely straight cis male handle it? Because now in your new position [not taking into consideration the nuances of lesbian sex here obv], you kinda exclusively fall on the 'lock' side of the lock and key equation, right?
I completely understand that denial or Kass's 'not think or deal with it at all' approach would be common... But how could you not be faced with this every time you had to use the loo? Would someone in that position EVER 'get used' to it to the point that they could... -forget about enjoying it, but just even like attempt it in the first place?
Not that anyone asked but I'd be curious eventually... and might experiment, per se. But the idea of doing that with another person? Wow, I don't... I think it would be nigh impossible to ever get into the headspace where that wouldn't make me uncomfortable.
I've already written a book here and I've not even remotely gotten into how absolutely squicked I am over the idea of becoming pregnant. I have mad respect to the ladies / pregnant-capable folks out there. The entire thing frankly scares me, and it's super interesting, even illuminating to see how Kass would deal with the topic.

There is a certain element of body horror there, particularly for us guys no doubt.
I mean its basically a CIS person being shoved into a trans experience incredibly abruptly and... Well trans experiences vary drastically from, "This is a living hell, I hate my own skin!" to "I'd be happier if I wasn't this, but I can deal till/if I can make some adjustments."
Kass is just ALSO dealing with the added complication of being suddenly inhuman, tiny and socially ostracized, which means that, its hard to tell how much of his gender dysphoria is based on hating being female bodied and how much is just, "EVERYTHING IS WEIRD!"
If/When he can process his new species, that's when we'll get a better idea as to how much of his discomfort is related to not being male bodied vs not being himself in basically anyway. (IE. Will he find himself struggling with intense discomfort whenever reminded he's not got his male bits or will he just enjoy what he has for what it is and just sort of go, "Well I'm a guy, knowing that and being seen by others that way is what's important for me feeling valid in my identity."
Also like, there is at least some implication he might be gender fluid/NB/transfem and that his hang ups about being female are FULLY related to his transformation over all and as he learns to accept being a yinglet, he's also just kinda falling into being cool with being a woman at the same time. That his gender was more just a, "I've never had to think about this before, so I guess I'm CIS by default, right?" Kinda deal.
We will seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Yeaaah I didn't even touch on the species part of the transformation- but that one is rather non-optional to deal with and Kass has been dealing with it since it happened- via understanding, reflection, documentation, etc. It's the part that is 'most' thrust upon him and he is forced to deal and come to terms with the 'Yinglet' part of the TF.
The feeling I get is that he's been vehemently denying the 'female' part of the transformation though. And I understand that part very well- from my rather extremely conservative part of the world, the idea of a 'male' being penetrated by anything- even if it would be his own exploratory fingers, is highly emasculate, unacceptable, taboo and 'gay'.
I'm not sure if in Kass's world such toxic masculinity exists or if these things are more acceptable there, which might ultimately tint his willingness to eventually breach the subject of his new bits. Still interesting, and excited to see how he takes it and where it goes eventually.

Yeahhhh, it's some Serious Stuff that gets glossed over in a ton of TGTF scenarios, although for good reason! It can kinda kill the arousal if the story is more sexy-based, it requires a whole lot of thought from the character's POV, and can go real bad real fast if not handled well. But it's something that is absolutely going to be featured in this story.
Thankfully, Kass doesn't have to experience that aspect of Yinglet biology. And even more thankfully, she wasn't subjected to it against her will.
As for those asking if Yinglets and humans can interbreed...
*all-over shudder*
From a purely academic standpoint? We simply do not know. Or rather, no one in the story is aware of there being any credible attempts involving male Yinglets and a female human. I'm sure there's plenty of insinuations, depending on how vitriolic the gossip gets? But thus far, nothing is known. We do know that male humans will engage in sexual intercourse with male Yinglets, but neither can become pregnant, so that's a non-starter.
But as for pairing a human male with a Yinglet female? Well, overlooking even gaining access to a female, one thing we do know, is that Yinglet morphology and genetics are extremely flexible within the species. Traits are easily molded between pairs, and with such fast breeding cycles it does introduce the possibility, no matter how remote, that such a pairing just might produce...something. Throw in "magic", or whatever it is that's in play here, and things only get even more likely.
If that intraspecies genetic flexibility can actually translate to in*ter*species relationships...
Well.
Let's just say that one, Ran is going to be very busy, and two, it's highly likely to end in flames and screaming.
If we're lucky.
Regardless, I think Valsalia is going to just sit around with a huge grin, and not saying anything as they let the speculation flow.

Val has stated that magic is not a thing in this world.
If Isher, who looks like a cross between a tyrannosaurus and a human, can have a human mother and a ?????? father, yinglets and humans may just as well be interfertile.
isherkin clearly humans gene spliced with native fauna in a bid to make humans more adapted to the planet, since every animal so far seems to be a plated and or spiky thing
Hello OOPs peeps! I'm here to remind you yet again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
OOPs closed out last month at 44th place and about 929 votes. It's currently at 829 votes and 53rd place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

How does a webcomic get on the TWC list? I tried to vote for my second favorite one (UTC: Urgent Transformation Crisis) but it is not listed.
BTW, that site is where I first learned about OOPs a couple years ago.

I don't really know, but I'd guess that the person making the comic has to contact them and inquire about it.

Dunno, but here in the pacific time zone their "End of day" seems to be at 5:00PM, although you can vote up to midnight on the last day of the month before it rolls over to the next month.
IIRC their "End of the day" time may change with daylight savings time, though.

Less than usual, but still under fifty, so not bad, really.
When I started they were doing good to be on the second page.
*Thank goodness! Still plenty of room for eggs, then.*
*EWWWWWWWW!!!*
*EWWWWWWWW!!!*
Aww, how cute and tsundere Kass looked. It cannot be said that she is attracted to him, but remembering that in that AU where both are Yinglets they were madly attracted and did not hesitate to let her new nature run. With Kass, perhaps, ending up pregnant after that night of passion. I don't know what would happen if she meets a Yinglet as handsome and protective as he is in the main story.
Something to consider, with many species that lay eggs, the act of mating triggers the biological processes that result in eggs. Does not matter weather the eggs are fertile or not. Evadently yinglets do not just start laying eggs, without some sort of stimulation to get the process started, once started it continues, reguardless of sexual activity. Much as chickens will continue to lay eggs, no rooster needed. So yes, doing a human could start Kass producing eggs.
Now something to consider, Kass is not quite the same as the rest of the yinglets, she is closer to what yinglets where like before the enclaves breed there people to produce eggs so heavily. Or, perhaps closer to what yinglets where saposed to be, rather than what they have been breed to by by there leadership. Not enough enformation to really say much yet.
ALso, Kass has been thinking about it, thats why such a strong responce. I expect Lopin will be her first, and that it will be a very accsidental event. A few too many clams, overly tired, or something.

I do kinda worry about Kass though. They are going to have to deal with that part of life eventually. especially if not doing so would be hazardous to their health.
Well that's a mental image that Kass didn't need I'm sure
I continue to adore how expressive yinglets are

— Ahh, zhank goodness. Now, zhere is a patriarch I'd like you to meet...
To be fair, it was only the ignorance of the 'rapists' as to the facts of life, coupled with Elim's timely arrival, that prevents the answer from being 'yes'.
Wow... I have no clue how folks are getting some of their assumptions.
I suspect I know why she asked. It sort of had to be.
Do folks understand if they they can always re-read the series to be sure on things??

I’m not sure where folks are getting Elim as a part of “Ze exiles. Are you carrying zheir eggs?” Perhaps it’s the writer in me, or maybe it’s… other experiences I’ve had… but the conversation about Elim was two-fold: first, is Kass “all zhere” after the attack (PTSD is a very real possibility, and I’m certain Vizlet knows it by concept even if it’d be called something else in this world), and second, a way of easing Kass into the question. I believe this is similar to how a therapist, hospital staff, and/or law enforcement would approach an assault on someone by a known or suspected SA offender.
And, damn Val! You nailed the emotional bits there! That said, I have to wonder what signs of PTSD Kass are going to show once the reality of what almost happened sinks in. (Right now, he’s too distracted by Elim‘s recovery to process that part of the assault.)

Yeah Kass came real close to something truly awful. It's only a matter of time before it really sinks in. :(
This is factual confirmation that YINGLETS CAN ACTUALLY FEEL DISGUST!
WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY FOR SCIENCE!!!
WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY FOR SCIENCE!!!
Oh they feel disgust, just over different things than humans!
Such as the disgust of not smelling like smelly beach water

Also a confirmation that YINGLETS HAVE ACTUAL (terrible) STANDARDS!
ANOTHER DISRUPTIVE SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY!

I swear the facial expressions you can create Val, you make these characters so animated and lovable
I mean they handed one to me and so technically I was carrying it for a second but I think it was a chicken egg
I don't know the specific reason Vizlet is relieved (enclave reputation, avoiding the exiles' bloodlines continuing, simply caring about Kass' well-being, etc.), but Kass is already going through enough, so I'm happy for the lack of eggs as well.
Can Yinglets and Humans interbreed?
I hope not, we'd be up to our eyeballs in them in no time.

Kass never said no!!! I think we need to discuss this more thoroughly!!!! hehehe
I'm wondering if Vizlet's "Thank Goodness" is not just out of thankfulness for Kass's well being, but also for an entire other array of problems that arise with exiles passing on genes. Yinglet abortion egg crushing.
Also hahahah poor Kass.
....I am utterly confused how so many seemed to have come to the conclusion she was talking about Elim when Vizlet specifically mentions the exiles.
Guys, this is a really good comic. Please get better reading comprehension so you can actually understand and appreciate what's going on so I won't have to grit my teeth when I read the comments, thanks.

After I saw there was so much misunderstanding, I went back and added that "...Ze exiles..." in panel 4. That seems to have done it!
While I appreciate her attempt to soften the question, I genuinely think Kass would have been less distressed if Vizlet had just come out and said it instead of mentioning eggs.
Poor Vizlet still doesn't quite understand Kass's headspace, does she. X3

I'm just waiting for the Kass field guide that's like, "Turns out, yinglet females, not unlike common ferret females in the wild, will eventually die of stress related heart failure if they don't mate when in heat. Guess I'm dying this week."
How did so many people get confused and think she was talking about Elim?
She used the phrase 'Exiles' - which I'm pretty sure makes no sense when referring to Elim and other humans.

Something tells me the next panel is going to be "by the way... speaking of eggs... I know what you did!"
Eggs? *Erk* 'scuse me. <leaves to hit the privy and comes back> Funny thing, I thought that was how yinglet's went to the restroom...
Well they did try to yknow do the uh uh with Kassen. Thank goodness Elim stepped in and stopped them. Also matriarch weirdly looking out for kassen but I’m still waiting for the possibility that if kassen had the unfortunate happen it would be more like a societal issue with that fact rather than a just looking out for kassen type of thing… but hey I’ll give the benefit of the doubt for now.
Not an unfair question, especially since if not for Kass's friend - arriving and arriving at the right time, that would be a possibility... Good thing he was there...
I mean, I feel like for us humans the light way of putting it is, "Were you taken advantage of?" but I guess as long as you get an answer that suffices enough, any question goes.
Man, how do I go to reading and responding to these one day at a time, to not even being able to do either once they drop? I've grown lazy : ( And I'm not just now noticing this.
