In the grass, dead kingdoms lay
Await, astrewn, in field's parlay.
Fiefdom's bourne unborn once thence,
eyes abjured to touch it hence.
But in time's slaught, man forgot
Why he fled it whence.
In the dirt, the drown king waits
For shovel and pick to prick his gates.
Demense's reign unborn(e) once thence,
Man tempts to bear it hence.
And in time's pass
Men too, will lie in the grass.
Await, astrewn, in field's parlay.
Fiefdom's bourne unborn once thence,
eyes abjured to touch it hence.
But in time's slaught, man forgot
Why he fled it whence.
In the dirt, the drown king waits
For shovel and pick to prick his gates.
Demense's reign unborn(e) once thence,
Man tempts to bear it hence.
And in time's pass
Men too, will lie in the grass.
