Arrangement: Easton Kingdom/Underground (Super Mario Land)
A while back when I did the underground theme music from the Nintendo Game Boy game "Super Mario Land," people on YouTube said that I did the wrong song, because I did not clarify that it was the underground music from when Mario goes down a pipe into a bonus area for more coins. They thought it was actually going be the underground music for the Easton Kingdom, where Mario battles the first boss of the game (a fire-breathing Sphinx). So in order to correct that mistake, I whipped up this interpretation of the music from the Easton Kingdom.
Apparently I have a bad habit of sneaking parts of the "Jeopardy!" theme into many of my arrangements; I did so again here in the vibraphone solo.
This is for my traditional trio of alto saxophone, vibraphone, and piano.

I remember this song. I heard this a lot.
This was Mario's first ever adventure to be for a portable console specifically.

There's a chance it was the first Mario game I ever played, since my cousin had an original Game Boy. I never got past World 1-2, though.
