Only bad who will happen is that they put in bars in the ventilation shafts to prevent Yinglets from using them.
Beizel don't want anybody to know he is using the shafts because of this. Including Yinglets as some might use them for stealing and similar who also will close them.

The other bad thing that could happen is The Vizlet learning that Beizel is spying on her and cancel their mating session as punishment. Beizel seems to look forward to that.
Beizel is serving as her personal bodyguard today. Of course he's supposed to be spying on her.
If Beizel and The mother matron don't make an offspring I'ma be mad. Those two would have the most brilliant little yinglet pup within the group
Such brilliant little bastards...they would be to smart for their own good. Would so see them get tiered of dealing with the old ways...actually scratch that Beizels cunning intellect and Viz's progressive desire may create a yinglet revolutionary leader....for better for worse :3
They might have already had one. Our bookish yinglet shares a lot of both of them.
*taps claws together* "Can I meet em? I wanna meet em. Are they anything like their parents?"
I don't have any bad feelings. Yet. Beizel knows he has a source of info now. Yannit has another friend.
If you think about it, Kass is the one responsible for the whole "menagerie" situation, not Viracroix. Who else attempted to bring various "exotics" in a vain attempt to get promoted at the very start of the comic?
Worded like this, gives me the lingering thought of kass acts before his story took this turn taking an effect on the story silly much later.
Checkhovs gun, eh?
Checkhovs gun, eh?
Yeah, Kass is like fuzzy little Son Goku, unintentionally gathering friends and allies around her.
Too bad there are no senzu beans in this universe; Merrs is a great surgeon, but it would've made it much easier for Elim to recover from getting shanked by Brakka.
That could be part of the plan! Employ dudes who bring in the exotics
Except this particular dude didn't get employed until he became an exotic
I can't recall who stated it exactly, but I remember a Science Fiction author in the 1970s quipped, "Could you be friends with a giant spider who has to eat prey alive, but also enjoys Mozart and plays an excellent game of Chess?"
As long as their prey aren't other sapient beings, like humans. Or yinglets.
Enn so long is its not sapient I would just let them know its best for our friendship that such a meal would be eaten in private.
Woah! It appears that I have stumbled into a rather erudite crowd here. May you all become future diplomats!
Actually : yes.
Because that spider enjoying Mozart's music and being good at chess tells us two things :
One, they are curious enough about "alien arts" to develop an interest in Earth's culture. Meaning they understand that mankind is an intelligent species they can interact with on polite, civilized grounds.
Two : if they are intelligent enough to play chess and enjoy classical music (and, going with the above, are aware that humans are intelligent and self-aware), they would also consider that eating intelligent prey is wrong, meaning they would only eat animals. In a "barbaric" way, sure, but if they have no choice (it *has* to eat prey alive, after all), it can't really be held against them.

What if, as an intelligent race, they only eat intelligent races both to insure they have less competition and through xenomorph-like gene transfer, increase their own abilities?
Jack L. Chalker, The Well of Souls. He probably stole it from Robert Bloch.
Ah! I read most of the "Well of souls" series in my Teen years, (Mainly because it had centaurs in it.) and maybe that's where I picked ot up. Thank you! I'll have to look up Robert Bloch, too.
I've never been able to think about Chalker without swearing after reading Bloch's "A Nursemaid to Nightmares" and Chalker's River of the Dancing Gods.
It didn't help when I learned that Chalker had edited Bloch's papers after his death. If you like Centaurs, you might try this author:

Hey, cool to see you here!
Well, as the others have said, long as I wasn't on the menu. It would help if the spider was cute, like those rainbow jumpers that wear the water-ball hats, or perhaps fuzzy and well proportioned, like a wolf spider.
Daddy-long-legs or an Alaskan-Crab style spider on a giant scale... would take some work.

Alive does not mean conscious. We use stun guns to render the animal unconscious before slaughtering them.
I thought Beizel was just trying to meet up with Matriarch Vizlet. What is it he's looking for that requires him to not be caught? Or is it just that he doesn't want anyone to know he's able to use the vent tunnels, so they don't patch the flaw in their security?
Of course I want to know more. Beizel is bae. ^.^
Of course I want to know more. Beizel is bae. ^.^
My bet is on the latter. Why do I always bet on the latter omg
I suspect he is just gathering information on the trade-master in general. After all, his friend and matriarch is in dealings with him and information can be very useful in these kinds of dealings. Even if all that info tells you is that he is as genuine as he appears.
I suppose you might always bet on the latter because of a tendency people seem to have to put the more likely outcome at the end of a sentence rather than at the beginning; as it allows for a more satisfying end to a sentence.
Also BIRB.
Also BIRB.
Yannit mentioned they feel tasted like Kass, is that just because they are both Yinglets or could it be for another reason? Maybe Kass isn't the only former human whose now a Yinglet.
Most intriguing, for sure...but Vizlet wouldn'tve been as legit shocked at that realization if she already knew it was A Thing That Could Happen.
(Unless Beizel is playing it even closer to the vest than usual...)
(Unless Beizel is playing it even closer to the vest than usual...)
Honestly, I'm going with Occam's razor here : Beizel "taste-feels" like Kass because they are both Yinglets.
The sneaky yinglet doing sneaky things...
Hope it's for a good cause.

Hi there, OOPsers! I'm here to remind you yet again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
OOPs closed out last month at around 49th place and around 986 votes. It's currently at 273 votes and 74th place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes. Just a little left in the month, so vote, vote, vote!
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

I am about to lose access to my desktop for at least a month. Please vote to make up for my loss.
I use my iPhone and library but that is just two, not three, so ~30 votes a month.
Could you please put this request on Val’s site? I love reading the comments but I can’t comment myself for some reason.

Yannit is so innocent. Beizel is so not-innocent.
I love Yannit, she is... Terrifying and adorable and both of these are strong qualities in a friend.
Also just, love how Beizel is fairly charming and has a quick mind, allowing him to lean into what is likely a solid opening to get out of this unexpected situation without having his whole plan go up in smoke and it would all be very impressive and very cunning... If not for the fact that I'm 99% sure Yannit would be just as, if not MORE likely to keep his secret if he just said, "Hey, since we are friends, can you do me a favor and just not say anything? K thanks, bye!"
She just seems friendly and earnest enough that asking her directly would have her agree where as framing it like a story is likely to have her end up mentioning it to someone like Kass offhandedly like, "Oh ya I got to be in a story today! That was fun!"

Missed a 'th' on 'thank you' in the last frame. Hope you don't mind me correcting, like... again. XD
The black one is very cute. Though Yannit is stealing the scene here, I'm afraid.
And today we see Beizel and Yannit together. I wasn't expecting to see them together! A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
I tell ya, there's so much potential interaction potential in basically every character matchup in this story. And I wanna do 'em all.
I hadn't fully considered what that meant until now, this is an exciting revelation
Interesting that he still has his lisp in his internal monologue. :D
Natural-born yinglets seem to "think" in Yingspeak, since they've always talked that way and were raised by people who talked that way. Their "internal voice" matches their "external voice", at least as far as th-replacements go. Kass still "thinks" with th sounds because that's what he's used to. Maybe after he's spent enough time as a yinglet, his "internal voice" will shift towards his new "external voice", but that will likely take months if not years (and likely induce a minor panic attack when he notices himself doing it). ^.^
now watch as Beizel finishes his mission, heads home, gets ready to head to bed, only for him to turn around to head towards his bed and finds Yannit just standing there asking if he finished his story and if he can tell her it and how she's here because friends have sleep overs and she already had a sleep over with her other friends but not with friend Beizel and OH friend Beizel also hasn't had a sleep over with Yannit's other friends so they should fix that now!
Most of all of what she said going completely over Beizel's head as he was using all his mental fortitude to not scream like a little girl, at least up until she grabs him and starts rushing back to town.

Yaaaay, more Yannit is always a treat, she's sweet and adorable as ever! ^w^ <3
Oh the sweet part must be the honey-like substance they produce in certain cases
Is she leaking
Is she leaking
I can relate to Yannits desire to be called by her name, heck I too like to be called by my name
I mean like, it's made of *sounds* and stuff!
Imagine being super into bugs, migrating to a bug alien colony, then being assigned a pheromone name-marker, and then smelling a bug addressing you by it!

Did Beizel intentionally say "zomezhing", or was it supposed to be "somezhing"?
Well there are adorable floofy moths, which are empirically better than frogs.
Yannit's going to look super cute in her new uniform, though it might interfere with her tunnel-scuttling .
Not asking for spoilers or anything, but what would some of Yannit's hypothetical duties to Veracroix be?

There's a typo in the last panel. He says thanks without the lisp. Otherwise. As always. Fantastic page.
This is a combination of characters I never expected to see together, and now that I have, I absolutely LOVED it.
I wanna combo 'em all before the story ends, if at all possible
I hope it won't end anytime soon, and if it will, well, maybe something new could begin then. You (and the people who are working with you, helping, - the colorists) are awesome at what you're doing.
Yannit fan section out here hooting and hollering, we will say her name as much as she wants
Don't ever think that studying the quaint primitives is only going one way.
......this feels like he's scouting in case things....go south. Also god damn it Yannit is such a sweetie! Would hug n give her lots of treats. :>
So Yannit places more and more value on independence and personality. Neat.
Not sure i remember correctly how Indrel society works, but i can imagine her enjoying a name and a story of her own under this name, discovering that she developed her very own personality.

Yay. Been looking forward to seeing these two again since their earlier encounter in the vents some pages ago.
Wait did Yannit just imply that her people have a story about a Princess and a Frog?
Auurgh, that twist to get up off the floor. Makesy back hurt just thinking about it. Silly stilt-noodles.
Getting intel from the indrel, I see. It seems the part about stories has intrigued him. Is he going to have the same problem trying to check out a book on transformation stories like Elim did? Or does he have other things in mind?
Tune in next time to find out!

Someone's gonna hurt Yannit one day. Poor Yannit just wants to be friends with every creature they cross. But people are cruel.
