As I have a fun little picture that I want to post here involving him, I felt like it was about time to post up a profile about arguably the main character of my fantasy novel, Masks of the Elements . He's technically from an alternate/older time in my world, hence his knowing Elena when she's a young bunny. But that concept is a whole other thing to dive into some day down the line.
Name: Donovan
Sex: M
Height: 5’6
Race: Skunk
Affiliation: Sarasala Kingdom
Occupation: Monk
Likes: Elena, nature, kind-hearted fursons, the Wind
Dislikes: Fire elemental magic, big cities, cruel fursons, corrupted beasts
Special talents: Martial arts, tracking, meditation, channeling the elements
Most Ticklish Spot(s): Ticklish all over, but his feet and palms are especially sensitive, as are his armpits.
About:
Before he could do more than walk, Donovan was thrown away by his father and left in the care of an abbey of monks in the Sarasala countryside. Donovan doesn’t remember much about his father, aside from him being from some manner of nobility. The monks refused to tell him much more than that, saying that it would only ‘lead to more confusion and discomfort’. As they were more of a family to Donovan than his father had ever been, the young skunk respected their wishes and didn’t dive much deeper.
One day, not long after Donovan had turned 18, tragedy struck the abbey. One of the monks tried to form a contract with the Elemental of Flame, Byrn, and failed. The monk was taken over by the Flame and went on a rampage, attacking and burning everything in sight. Donovan and the other apprentices were evacuated and separated in the chaos. Days later, when Donovan made his way back to the abbey alone, he found nothing but charred ruins.
He remained there for days to wait and search for survivors, but none came. While he was waiting, he was approached by the Elemental of Wind, Zephyr. The elemental calmed Donovan’s fear and mourned with him over the loss of his family. Zephyr then took Donovan under his wing and the two formed a partnership. From that moment forward, Zephyr leant his power to Donovan and taught the young skunk the ways of the elements.
From then on, Donovan resolved to seek out instances of the elements going wild and calm them, while also helping any and all in his path. One of those he helped happened to be a very young bunny girl with strange magic that scared the local populace and no family of her own. Much like Zephyr did for him, Donovan protected her and took her under his care.
Now, the two travel across the countryside of Sarasala, looking to settle the increasingly volatile elements and, whether they know it or not, stop one of the biggest threats their world has ever seen.

I assume mid-battle a poke to his tummy or brush against his sole makes him and Zephyr capturable for future 'interrogations.' 🪶 🐾 🤣
Zephyr might be a bit tougher to get ahold of, but poor Donovan would absolutely crumble to the right poke ;)
They're pretty handy, for sure ;) I've only made a couple of Monks in DnD, but they always feel very capable and fun.
He does look like he could use a little poke to his soles, cause he’s cute and barefoot!
