(D&D) Rottenwick
Bio:
Once a young man and apprentice to a grand and powerful Warlock, the moment Rodrick Candlebright crossed paths with Ritmoure, his life would be forever changed. As Rodrick, the young man was the keeper of knowledge in his small village, custodian of all the books and spells of his late great master, with one book always forbidden from his reading. It was a dark book, one of warped and terrible powers which was to forever be kept away from the eyes of those with the aspirations to try to learn its evil contents. Having never seen a creature like Ritmoure before, and being only able to partially identify some of his aura and the remains of the ruined artifact he carried, Rodrick's eyes turned to that wicked tome, knowing that it would likely have the answers about the curious man who passed through his little village in the middle of nowhere.
The moment the dark book's bindings were opened, a dark, eldritch madness took root in his mind, fracturing the mind of Rodrick and acting as a conduit to the same dark power which made Ritmoure in the first place. The madness was quick, and the transformation of not only Rodrick, but the town and people he was sworn to protect, came even quicker. As had been the case for Tori Em-Ru, Rodrick was reshaped into a twisted caricature of his own worst traits:
Rodrick had always concealed a certain jealousy of the wisdom and prestige of the great elders of his village, the authority and regard that everyone held for them and their legacies and knowledge. As Rottenwick: Emissary of the Rat Lord, the now elder dark warlock revels in his age and power, coveting his great knowledge and striving to add more pages to the great wealth of information he's collected and researched, as well as the regard the others hold for him as a grand elder. Having similarly channeled the dark power to the rest of the villagers, and similarly warping the village into their new home of Verminborough, Rottenwick is revered by the new Verminfae race within their non-euclidean home as the great and powerful elder he always desired to be, second only to Ritmoure, the new Rat Lord of the Verminfae people.
