I once again got some time off the road from work to work on some music. For those who do not know, I lost the entirety of my Elementals Orchestral Symphony in a housefire in 2017. Computer, written scores, everything but a few MP3's and samples. I have been slowly rewriting this on top of my Prophecies Symphony.
The beginning is a ballad of Order, in how the universe and life itself is created into the planes of existence. But Order alone is meaningless. Life is about struggle... about Chaos.
Order and chaos are the yang and yin of the famous Taoist symbol: two serpents, head to tail. To me Order is the white, feminine serpent; Chaos, its black, male counterpart. The black dot in the white—and the white in the black—indicate the possibility of transformation: just when things seem secure, the unknown can loom, unexpectedly and large. Conversely, just when everything seems lost, new order can emerge from catastrophe and chaos. Creation comes from this. Meaning is to be found on the border between the ever-entwined pair. To walk that border is to stay on the path of life, the divine Way.
I am most proud of the 4:29 mark signaling the moment before Chaos erupts, and the 6:42 mark where the entire symphony comes to a balance of Chaos and Order.
I did something huge and upgraded my EastWest Sounds Online account from X to Plus. I went from around 500GB of instruments to 4TB. So I had to buy a new hard drive and everything to make it all fit.
As always, I hope you all enjoy Chaos and Order.
