Meet Aerium (again) a somewhat peculiar blue and gray dragon with dipstick legs and . Raised by anthros from his egg which was located in an abandoned cave. Unsure how it came to be left alone, what would end up being his adoptive parents raised him in their home and so Aerium grew up to be much less aggressive and defensive around people. Some may say he was tamed, maybe domesticated, I'm sure he would call it civilized and would probably be quite irritated if you were to imply he was on the same level as a pet or barn animal by suggesting he was "tamed". You probably wouldn't be blamed for thinking that though, as he does wear that red collar. That collar was given to him by his adoptive anthro parents when he was very little, not as a way to make him a pet, but rather to show to those around him in regular society that he was not a wild dragon that they should fear or attempt to subdue to prevent someone from getting hurt. It was for his own protection, as his anatomy does not allow for him to speak their language. Aerium decided to continue wearing it after he was old enough to leave and get his own cave as a memento of sorts, and because he has worn it for so long that he would just feel naked without it. The second, purple collar has a much simpler explanation. Aerium found a mate, a dragoness with purple scales that looks like amethyst, hence the collar itself being purple.
A wonderful commision by FridaFlame who was wonderful to work with and very accommodating to all the little details and minor adjustments that needed to be made.
I figured it was time to get a new reference. The last one I got was nice but as time went on and I figured out more about the exact details of Aerium that I hadn't yet decided upon or that I wanted to update. So this new reference is here to update and adjust those things. Perhaps the most conspicuous update is the addition of the additional collar, which is briefly explained in the ref itself and here in the description. I do plan on, at some point in the future, getting a story put together that explains and shows that in better detail and fleshes out his lore. For now though I think the brief explanation here does a good enough job. I mostly went into detail regarding the collars as that's probably the only part that needs some form of explanation, the rest is simply his anatomy and colors.
