I think that Bergamo can survive and maybe share such water to their brothers to see that is very worried by them and he doesn't want leave them behind by their impetus to want to defeat the Saiyans that left them out of the Tournament of Force very early, in addition to the fact that the three boys must become much stronger if they don't want to be humiliated by a powerful race of warriors once again
That was from the 1st time when Goku met him. This is based after the 1st fight with Tao where Goku (and Yajirobi) had to go through a realm to find the real Divine Water. With that one, it was like he was drinking poison or acid as it was burning his insides, yet he managed to survive from it.
