This one came out a little more somber than initially intended. But in the end I really ended up loving the tone of it, so I kept it as is! This is a bit of an older piece (which has also been serving as my banner on here!) And I only wanted to posted when I finished the story. Which I actually wrote about three times now! The first draft was actually good, I thought. But my computer itself didnt think so and it just poofed! And, while I remembered quite a bit of it, I took that as a sign to write it again, cause why not? Well, that draft sat on one paragraph for a LONG time, before I scrapped it. And then today I finally got that spark, and wrote this piece out. I hope you all enjoy! (once again the art in this piece is done by the lovely Okaliz over on twitter here: https://twitter.com/0kaliz The bunny in this piece belongs to the ever so lovely MeerMush And the goat is mine!!)
No one said that life would be easy, everyone knows that by now. But there is always still a little hope left that things won't be so bad, you know? And sure, at times things can suck. Like. Really sucks. And sometimes? Things don't suck as much. Still, at times like this Annabelle wonders how lucky she can be! Her life had never been that easy, from an early age she was burdened by her overbearing, and lets not forget outrageously religious, parents. The burn scars on her legs are remnants of a bit of her rebellious nature that spurned from her parents' treatments towards her. And it was nights like this that really [ut things into a better perspective for her. The little flecks of snow that danced across her ears, making her shiver slightly from the cold. And then that warm arm wrapping around her, gently bringing her into a soft cuddle.
Valery Crescent. Annabelle could never forget how the two met, but that would be a story for a later date. She didn't want to linger on the past right now, as sour and as sweet as it could be. Because right here, right now in the present, she was as safe and as sound as could be. The gentle stars peeking through broken spots in the clouds overhead, all twinkling with a fire so strong yet so far away. She always found it ironic in a way, how similar people and stars are to one another. After all, everyone walks through life in a silent dance, their soul burning inside. Some brighter than others. Some are colder. Some so cold that no light can escape its grasp. And yet, here she was with her own bright star, sharing a dance together. A binary system, intertwined.
“You know, we can head back any time you want.” Val would state in that warm tone of hers. That just made Annabelle shudder more! A soft giggle would pass over the goats throat and she would just shake her head a little, just leaning into that bunny more. Val had the best fluff around, Annabelle knew that for a fact. So she would just lean into her more. Her parents never let her out at night, and so she takes any chance she can get to come out when she can now that she has been free of them for a while. It's just become a sort of habit for her. Same with her fascination with space, her parents forbid any learning of it, so go figure now it is one of her main interests.
“Mmm~ No, my star. I am perfectly warm here in your fire.” She would just coo out lightly, and even though her eyes were closed, she could tell that cute bunny was blushing up. Another soft, bleaty laugh once again. “Just hold onto me and it will make being out here in the cold all that much more worth it… Though, that being said. I am getting a little peckish. How about when we head back I make that dish you really like?” She would ask, tilting her head up softly, peaking a single eye open. Sure enough, the bunny was a heat of blush. But Val would nod lightly in return. The two lean in on instinct to share a quick kiss.
“Yeah, I would love that very much! I love you~” But neither would really make an effort to move from one another. Sure. It was cold. But as with life, you have to take the warm moments in stride. Hold onto them. Cherish them. And never forget the love you feel in the moment. Never forget to share your love, for you never know when it might be too late to do so.
“Hm~ Well you know I love you too!” Annabelle would just hum, softly leaning her head back down to nuzzle up against that soft warm fluff of Val’s chest. “I love you so much.”
